The Worst Single Episode

Saddlesore Galactica was the first of two episodes that made me quit The Simpsons for good. After watching that stupid crap, I saw the one where Homer loses his finger and it all magically resolves itself in the end. At that point, I realised it was all stupid, unresolved stories that could shart out any ending moving forward, and promptly quit. Haven't watched a newer episode since.
For me, I started getting disinterested around Seasons 13 or 14, and stopped caring all together after that. The seasons leading up to when I stopped watching were just full of duds, so I didn't even care anymore by Season 15. Anything after that is zombie territory as far as I'm concerned.

My mind is blown that you posted this in 2014. I could sworn that crap ended just a couple years ago, but no it was actually seven.
You know, it’s funny you quoted that old post because oh no…

I don't how anyone can name a specific Simpsons episode. There's a period from like 1999 - 2007 where there are entire seasons of garbage. Off the top of my head I remember the Phantom Menace episode where Bart and Skinner have a shrimp sword fight while Duel of the Fates blares in the background (they're allergic), culminating in them falling into a vat of shrimp and getting deformed. Or the NSYNC navy episode. Just god awful no effort trash.
you weren't kidding. I just arbitrarily picked Season 12 to see how bad it was by this time. these are the episodes i have some memory of/comments on:

E1: a less-remembered treehouse of horror
E2: tale of two springfields. only relevant for having a swear in it. has an unnecessary celeb cameo
E4: dreadful environmental episode with lisa
E5: panda rape episode
E6: Homer is Mr X. one of the worst episodes of the show.
E8: when they are snowed in at school. this is a good episode.
E9: Homer becomes un-r*tarded by removing a pencil from his nose. has a terrible message and a status quo is god ending.
E10: Homer is a backstreet chiropractor. very mediocre.
E11: Comic book nerd dating Mrs Skinner. nightmare fuel and a shitty plot about a character no one cares about.
E12: tennis episode. another all-time bad episode.
E13: bart is hypnotised by Bob. quite good episode.
E14: shite celeb episode
E15: Homer hunger strike. very boring.
E16: Lisa uses a bully to do a social experiment. don't remember a single joke from this one.
E19: praiseland episode. really bad.
E20: homer runs a daycare centre. boring episode/jerkass homer.

I can remember 2 good episodes from this entire season.

Pretty much sums up my thoughts exactly. I love The Who, but the episode is hard to watch and definitely reeks of that pre-zombie feeling. What's sad is that Pete Townsend isn't actually voicing himself in the episode: it's really his brother. So it's an episode featuring a band made up of aging rockstars, but portrayed young in their '70s heyday, and only two real members of the band are playing themselves; sure, Keith Moon died a long time ago, so casual normies aren't going to recognize their new drummer, but they didn't even get their real guitarist/songwriter.

The snowed-in Christmas episode is one of the few that holds up, although the other episodes in Season 12 already set the bar low.

What was the South Park episode where Cartman ropes Butters into holding up a PF Chang's and they shoot a guy in the dick? I just remember finding that episode aggressively unfunny.

Edit:

Dude, past Freaker was a tumblrino socialist dating an uggo who was about to go genderspecial. Most of us were exceptional in 2013.
The China Probrem, and while its quality was somewhat lacking....hoo boy did it call certain things about what was gonna happen to certain franchises....
Omg the A plot was so bad it blocked my memory of the George Lucas stuff
This episode along with "Splatty Tomato" were to me the worst episodes for South Park. They both are very similar in terms of how the episodes were done:

  • Both episodes had similar concepts which were done before earlier and done way better (For China Probrem, "Free Hat", for Splatty Tomato, "Doubling Down")
  • Both episodes had both plots A & B that fall flat (For "China Probrem", Plot A involves Cartman tries to stop Chinese invasion by.... going to PF Chang (wtf), while Plot B involves the residents of South Park crying over Crystal Skull. For "Splatty Tomato", Plot A involves the escapades of President Garrison, then there's so many subplots all over the place such as PC Principal and Strong Woman's relationship, Cartman and Heidi's relationship)
  • Both episodes involved very cringeworthy unsubtle repetitive jokes:
    • For "China Probrem", there's that repetitive joke involving how Indiana Jones was raped, because get it? The fourth movie was so bad that it felt like Indiana Jones got raped? One of the references for the rape scene is even after Family Guy doing it and this is the same show that mocked Family Guy. Another repetitive joke in that episode involves Butters shooting some guy in the dick. If it's not funny enough, be sure to do it several more times until it's actually funny. Another """""""joke"""""" in the show, though only done once, is Cartman's bright idea of speaking to Chinese people via saying "ching chong" made me facepalm as it's trying way too hard.
    • For "Splatty Tomato", there's repetitive """""""""jokes"""""""" involving how Bob White telling how "nobody cares about the Whites" over and over and over. Another "joke" involves "Fox Trap". Get it? Because Fox News favors the president so it's called a "fox trap"?
  • Both episodes ended with almost nothing and a waste of your time after repeating the same jokes over and over for the rest of the runtime.
If someone told me Seth MacFarlane is actually involved in these episodes I genuinely won't be surprised.

Breaking Bad - "Fly." Talk about a bottle episode, and it shows. Gorgeously shot but it meanders and is not as introspective as you would hope. This was Rian Johnson's first of three episodes. He turned it around with Ozymandias.

Seinfeld - 'The Parking Garage' more bullshit bottle episode crap that has one good joke at the end. The one at the chinese restaurant was better by all regards.

I liked Fly but I didn't really care about Breaking Bad, I just lived with somebody who watched it religiously. So "lol fuck all that scheming we gotta kill a damn fly" was kind of funny for me.

Reactions: Nguyen Van Phuoc
The Ms. Pageant Rewind episode of the American version of What Not to Wear. It took three former pageant beauties and had them compete again against each other. And no, you don't get to see the ladies' get good-naturally roasted by Clinton and Stacy (the two fashion consultants) for any crappy stuff they own and no real make-overs by the Nick and Carmondy (sp). I just found myself bored and not caring about these ladies.
