Here is my first attempt at stranded color work.

It could have been a lot better, I think I dropped a stitch somewhere, my tension was wonky, I had to unravel everything at one point because it was fucked up bad, and I could not find my green yarn. I also could have gotten more detail if I made it larger.
But there you go, the first piece of Kiwi Knitters Klub swag.

I was taught European style and told by the German lady that taught me that way is much quicker. I think the preference for older people is which way they learned as a child.

It’s most likely a mix of practice and preference.

Amigurumi is great for making little gifts for people. There are a lot of patterns out there, so it's not hard to find something for everyone. I learned how to do it from this book. The lady that wrote that book does really good videos to. The last project I finished was an iguana and I used her method for even stripes for the tail. It turned out really good.

Amigurumis are great. I'm thinking I'll learn crotchet after I get my current projects done just to make them. There was a stand selling them at the college art show, and they sold like hot cakes. People love them.

I've done French/spool knitting before. I made a really long rainbow-colored cord with the technique after my mother showed me how to do it as a kid, but then abandoned it once I realized that I had no real use for it.

I might take it up again at some point. I've always liked the idea of making an item of clothing from scratch.
