Chris is good at thinking he will overcome adversity in spite of the obstacles he faces. He's able to delude himself that despite all the shit that's happened, he will triumph and the trolls will be brought to justice. In other words, Chris is good at deluding himself in a good way. I mean, I bet you that if other people got the same treatment Chris got, they'd probably just kill themselves.

I would characterize it as pathological optimism. Sort of like what Zim from Invader Zim or Fuura Kafuka from Sayonara Zetsubou Sensei are afflicted with.

As a former plastic guitar game veteran, I can attest that he's actually pretty good at [cwc]Guitar Hero[/cwc]. In the following video, he seems to only miss maybe three notes while playing on expert difficulty. While it seems like a pretty easy song, most people struggle to sight read or wrap their minds around the fifth button, let alone have enough timing, rhythm, and coordination to play along (which he seems to forget when doing voice-over songs). Considering he doesn't do second takes, rehearse, or edit beyond the bare minimum and this is a DLC song, I'm almost certain this is genuine skill instead of autistic memorization from playing it a thousand times.

Meh,I certainly wouldn't call that "skill" It's simple memorization, he just needs to do it over and over until he gets it right and lets face it, if there's one thing Chris has, it's spare time to do stuff like this. Put him in front of a song he's never played before, and see how well he reacts to something unrehearsed. If he can get a half decent score, then I'd say he has decent reactions, and there's maybe skill involved.
The thing about these rhythm games is that they're static and don't change (much like Chris) there's no reaction times or judgement involved.

To convince me he's good at games, I'd have to see him play a competitive game against a human opponent and hold his own.

I'm not saying he's good at games, period (oh, he most definitely isn't), or that the ability to play a low tier song on expert means much (it's not going to get him video views, win him money, or get him laid by a long shot; even if he could FC Jordan, he'd still fail at turning it into anything worthwhile), but even if he grinded that song for several weeks straight just to release a video with no context or bragging, there's still a base skill needed to even do that. I'm a way, way better gamer than Chris and it took me about two to three months playing a few hours a day before I could get a full combo on expert difficulty "Heart-Shaped Box" (a shit-easy song; easier than the one Chris played) even with spending a few days grinding that song specifically for the novelty of "I got 100% on an expert song". It really isn't as easy as it seems.

Come on, it's not like the near-infinitesimally faint praise of "Chris is a bit above average in a highly-autistic video game genre and can even play some songs on expert" is going to rupture the universe or something. Let's instead just chuckle at the fact that we have to get this specific to give him kudos.

Oh don't get me wrong,I don't think it's bad to suggest that he's ok at something, and your example was a perfectly valid one. It's just that all I see is somebody who's remembered a ridged set of button presses that have a series of unmissable visual and audio cues as well. Of course i'm, admittedly just being a bit pompous about it.

He makes a great anti-role model. When someone is sad or depressed, you can easily cheer the person up by showing him CWC and saying that they're not CWC. He's the person that no one should ever want to be and Chris does a damn good job at it unintentionally.
