This is supposed to be the spiritual opposite of the "You know what grinds my gears?" thread. What are little things in your life that, while not life-changing on their own, make you think, "You know what? I won't kill myself today after all."?

I'll start:
  • Watching a cat sleep
  • Cloning a FOSS project and it just works
  • The smell of freshly-laundered bedsheets
What about you? What are little things that remind you that life is kind of cool sometimes?

Crushing my enemies, seeing them driven before me, hearing the lamentations of their women.

But seriously, looking out over the creek behind my house as the sun sets.

Also, the crack of a golf ball. I don't even like golf, but it's a soothing sound. Maybe because it's the ultimate leisure sport, so if people are playing golf, things must be alright.

An older friend of mine is semi-retired. Had a shitty early life, was very blackpilled before the blackpill was a thing.

Lives in a small 19th century cottage now, alone, walks his dogs daily along picturesque country lanes, and enjoys the slow life. He's happy.

Call it burying your head in the sand, or just finding an untapped and unspoiled niche. Whatever it is, I'm happy for him.

- Hearing my cat purr
- Having any animal look at you with love and trust, especially when they don't like other people
- The ability to take a long ass shower without worrying about running out of hot water
- Drinking water when it's hot AF outside and you're about to die from heat stroke
- When your mom/grandma/parental figure makes and brings you food for no reason

Spending time with my cats.

Listening to good music. I'm partial to surf rock, jazz, reaggae, and samba. Also love 80s music.

Enjoying a nice cup of tea while reading a good book on a rainy day.

The sound of rain in general.

Art, whether it's making it yourself or watching a Bob Ross vid.

Dude's living the life. We should all be so lucky.
