Things you find oddly satisfying

Fresh air on a cool autumn day

Successfully fixing something that's broken.

New appliance smell.

Sitting in an old shitbox car, either as driver or passenger, with ice cold air conditioning on a hot summery day.

A bowl of homemade soup on a cold wintery day.

Bringing the bins in after they've been emptied, especially if one or both bins (i.e. garbage + recycling or garbage + garden waste) were almost at the point of overflowing.

When there's a strong downpour and everyone is trying to find shelter and wait it out, and you just resign to getting drenched and walk out into it and stroll home.

The feeling of deep bass notes from a subwoofer.
I love the extremely loud volume at concerts. The best part is the kick drum and bass thumping in your chest. It feels good to my ears, even though I know it's really causing damage.

The sound of rain, ambient Youtube videos of sounds- Victorian London sounds, ship or train sounds, ocean sounds, etc- but not ASMR, those give me the opposite feelings. Birds singing in the morning. Watching trains pass by, the smell of books, sitting by a warm fireplace. Going out to sit in nature and writing. The sound of typewriters.

I can't do with the super loud music anymore as I've gotten a little older. Loud machinery doesn't bother me, but loud music does.

That's one of the reasons I specifically like bass, the kind that's below your hearing threshold, because it's more of a visceral, tactile feeling instead of an auditory one.

I have a shiba eskimo mix and when he starts to shed his fur comes off in very pinchable small clumps, when I go to pull on them there's a tiny bit of resistance.

I can peel a carrot into a long and bouncy unbroken ribbon. I can peel a satsumas or mandarin into ribbons or into flowers in bloom. The orange is tough, much thicker and stiffer rind, but I will try to make it work, to remove it in one unbroken piece like all the others. That is fun for normal reasons but it's oddly satisfying when doing it with burnt skin that is healing, will it be possible to get the hand out of the rind without breaking or damaging it beyond its initial form?

The small of the inside of the case when you open a brand spanking new video game. It's a combination of ink, plastic out gassing and the chemicals they use to clean the disc and case after manufacture and I'd honest to shit buy it as a car air freshener if I could.

Meticulously organizing craft supplies by color/number/etc.

I never paint my nails or get manicures but lately I’ve been watching videos of those just to watch them do different kinds of patterns and colors and finish it off with a nice clear top coat.

The feel of those soft minky blankets fresh from the dryer. Running my hands over how smooth they are is nice.

I love seeing 70s/80s manga. The shoujo style is also a classic, I don’t care how girly it is it’s super cozy. I just can’t get into modern anime styles.

(Side note: my phone’s autocorrect is usually a prude but it kept changing minky to kinky so okay then)
