I have a server that I am doing nothing but running Plex on it, I was just curious if there was any interest from the forum in having a spot where we can play. I am running an unraid server and there are about 100 different games that have dedicated apps that make hosting a games server pretty easy. If you're interested drop a comment telling or DM.

Which game(s) should I look at hosting?

One of the Jackbox Party Packs seems like a perfect go-to. Just be careful about powerleveling your username, it shows up on the main menu:

If you run them through Steam, you can make an alternate account and use Family Sharing to share from your main.

Team Fortress 2 or Left4Dead 2 or something like that. Games people can just hop in for a few rounds.

In my shitty opinion, avoid open world crafting/survival games. I have a feeling those would potentially lead to an unwanted autistic meltdown. As funny as it would be, we don't need some ass mad faggot trying to sabotage the site because some one messed around with "their" spot on the the map.

I vote payday 2(nevermind, the farm has more than 4 people on it) or ark for chaos.

Ark could be fun too.

The thing with instance based games is everyone has to be online at the same time. Something like Ark or Rust, if there's no one online you can still get something done, and leave fun things for other players. It makes people more likely to come back, and more likely to be online at the same time.

i feel like a game where a community could be hosted would be fun, ark and rust is good for that but id be in the mood for something fantasy orientated where we can quest and stuff together. making our own proper villages would be cool but idk any games what let you do that apart from rp servers and modded minecrap

Ark has questing bits (well bosses and dungeons) and you can build bases. Plus, taming dinosaurs for mounts.

yeah but its not as indepth as id like. id want to have something inbetween SS13 and WoW i think, with proper questlines but the freedom to branch off and make your own gameplay. there are probably games like this but ive never heard of them
 
I'd vote for either Counter-Strike Source with a bunch of gag game modes or Sonic Robo Blast 2 Kart. Anything rapid-fire with a high potential for total clownshows really, but those two in particular have made for some of the most clamorous game nights I've participated in. SRB2K in particular has a ton of custom stages and player kits and it's super easy to make content for so if it catches enough wind we could get a nice little Kiwi modpack together for it.

Morrowind multiplayer is something I have always wanted to try
