Ben does good videos. The only thing that bugs me about this video is that he used a global instead of the stack for that one variable, but I guess it's ok if you only have a single core and don't have to worry about reentrancy, or caching, still seems wrong to me though.

They still make famiclones to this day in Asia. C64 is a bit harder since the SID chip isn't off the shelf parts. (The NES doesn't use an out-of-the-box 6502, but rather a variant with its own proprietary GPU, the "Picture Processing Unit" (nesdev | wikipedia). The SNES' CPU is also based on the 6502.)
