The only time I'll raise suspicions at an adult who is into media that is deemed "kiddie stuff" would be shows like Bluey / The Loud House (known to have extremely unhinged, obsessed, and deviant adult fanbases) or stuff like Paw Patrol (media 110% explicitly made for children with no room for any adult to have an interest in them except pure unbridled autists).

...or if they say they like Thomas & Friends past season 7.

The CGI conversion was partially done in Season 12 and fully done in Season 13.

The model sets of the HIT era are nice but that's when the show was turned into a by the numbers dumb toddler show with shitty writing, made 10x worse with the Nitrogen era with not even any model sets to at least autistically gaze at.

Yeah, but I will admit that using CGI killed what little love that I had for the series, though. And from what little that I've seen felt incredibly shallow and gay compared to the older seasons.

There is a YT content creator named Richard Jordan (Skarloey123, Skarloey being the name of a narrow gauge engine in the show) who has been influential in the fan community for 15 or so years, but was recently exposed as being a vile pedophile who likely abused and recorded lewd videos of his own children. Some of his accomplishments include producing videos on YT that have gotten millions of views, founding the Trainz modeling service Sodor Island 3D (Trainz is a train simulator), and creating a popular fan character named Alfred. His personals are still up for now. [YT] [Twitter]
even worse that site had loads of kids using these models for reskins and other autist stuff

What was the name of that turbo-autistic youtuber with thousands of Thomas the Tank Engine/Gumby/Bob the Builder toy videos?

Kind of a massive necro on this reply, but I'd agree.

I'd argue that around season 6 or 7 actually marked something of a change in children's media as a whole. It wasn't the progenitor of it, but you see where the hard shift was. If you look at children's TV in the 50s or 60s, and up to the late 80s early 90s there was the assumption that parents would be watching with their children, hell the BBC had a show literally called Watch With Mother. I would argue that was a good thing, because it gave parents and their child something to talk about, and engage with each other.

The early seasons of Thomas the Tank Engine were, in effect just stories, with the models just being there to represent said story. They were extremely well done mind you.

The first few seasons are perfectly watchable as an adult, they don't insult your intelligence, they don't try to be loud, or childish, and they also attempt to follow rules within the scope of the railway, they have an easy to follow story, meaning, or moral, and may even result in a kid one day getting a hobby. (I am in severe financial trouble, please help me)

Then media shifted, parenting attitudes shifted, where the TV and Children's Programming could be considered a "Family" activity, people started to treat the TV as a colourful babysitter. I do genuinely wonder how many parents actually sit with their children and watch the shows. Shit on Bluey all you want, but the friends of mine who have kids genuinely seem to enjoy watching that particularly with their kids. Anything that gets parents watching TV and spending time with their kids can only be a good thing, rather than letting them rot in front of an Ipad or attention span destroying shows like Cocomelon. (I genuinely believe the creators of that show belong on a cross for the harm they intentionally cause children and their dopamine receptors at such a young age)

There's a honestly a small spergy part of me that would love to the be able to buy up the IP, rework the entire thing, and aim to put it on the Saturday evening family entertainment slot on UK Television, that time slot used to house Mr.Bean The Animated Series, which I know is optimistic and dumb, but it'd be nice to put it somewhere where young kids are gonna see it just before bed and maybe even just watch with their parents. We should be encouraging more of that. Ideally without a screen at all, but baby steps.
