According their Facebook page:
"Fans of Lego(r) of all ages from the Metro Richmond area. We usually meet once a month on Saturday afternoons, most often at the Twin Hickory Library in Henrico, to show off our newest creations, rant and rave about new sets, or plan future group displays. Our two main events of the year are LegoPalooza, held in late February/early March in Chapel Hill, NC and BrickFair held in early August in Chantilly, VA (near Dulles Int'l Airport outside of DC.)"

Good sweet christ on a cracker, I hope not! If so, see thread title, lol. Hopefully, he is either too lazy to drive that far, or Barb won't let him go that far from the house.

Ahaha, awesome. I was waiting for this to show up publicly. This (and a bunch of things like it) are what Chris is wanting to get into but Barb won't let him. Well, also bars to drink bawdles of bud. But yeah, he's looking for a new game place definitely.

If it was, he'd probably avoid it now it was mentioned on here. Paranoia and all that.
Shame, because I'm sure there might be some people as weird as him going, he could make some friends.

I can imagine him carefully and meticulously bringing the whole LEGO house, etc plus the Lego Sonichu and Rosechu to the event, setting it all up, waiting for someone to ask him about it.

Would I be correct in assuming that those 'fallen angel' Lego pictures he used as his picture on Facebook were taken at this shindig? Or has he ever been allowed to go at all?

He probably either hasn't gone yet or has gone only once, no thanks to Barb.

Eh, we talk about everything in his life on here. If he avoided all of that, he'd do nothing ever. But yeah, I was considering that there might be weirdos there too. The big question is if it's a place for little kids (and their parents) or if it's a place for older weirdos. He'd do better in the latter situation, obviously.

Chantilly is very close to where I used to live and where I have family and friends. Just sayin'...I would love to be a fly on the wall if a certain someone were to show up... :tomgirl:

I'm pretty sure the Caddy wouldn't even get him there anyway. Richmond is nearly 2 hours away, almost 1 1/2 hours.

Well he got to DC with no problem. But I digress. Barb will never let him outta the house.

My impression is that Lego clubs are usually for adults or near-adults. This might actually be *gasp* an age-appropriate pastime he's trying to get into.

Doesn't he travel there a lot? Probably his access to his car is limited due to Barb now.

Wasn't Barb with him on that journey? Idk why I remember that.

Yeah Mommy was his chaperone to see the Mythbusters live and in person. He took the picture of her leaning on the trashcan.

But Barb can't stop him, Chris is his own free bitch.

I actually hope he's able to start going to this club or whatever. If it goes well, then OPL might finally have a healthy outlet and a group of friends. And, if it it doesn't go well then "yay, new saga"!

It's a bit weird that there would be a group dedicated to something so specific (something that Chris is obsessed with, btw) relatively close to him.

But it seems legit. There will probably be kids around, and older weirdos as well. I wonder what they'll think of Chris.

Ah, and Barb probably forbids him from going because it could be a trap set by us dang dirty trolls.

I don't think that Barb gives a flying pickle about trolls. I do think that she fears that letting her son interact too much with the public might backfire and work against her own probation, and to a lesser extent his own.

As far as fitting in, no. Never. Chris is an outcast even among outcasts. An adult Lego group may well cater to more eccentric personalities, but Chris is a developmentally disabled cross-dressing child. He wouldn't fit in anywhere except an asylum.
