Thoughts on de goons?

At the dinner table, talk of gun control (goon control) sprang up. I, being the only person there not completely traumatized by them or something, had a different stance from the others... One that I, being a Kiwi Farms member, failed to explain in a manner that anyone accepted.

So naturally, I'm asking the internet about their stances.

If someone (i.e. a lawmaker) says you shouldn't be armed, what they are really saying is that they want hostile and antisocial criminals with low inhibitions and high risk tolerance to be better armed than you are and that you should be an easy target for people that want to harm you. The same reasoning applies to people that oppose Stand Your Ground, Castle Doctrine, and other laws related to self defense and property defense.

2. My sisters want to be unarmed and want everything else to conform to their wishes

When you live in bump fuck nowhere, police take close to an hr to respond. When you live in the metro, the police just aren't coming.

A person can argue statistic and crime rates, but that would take all day. If your family are a bunch of lefties, point out that karl marx wanted all workers armed so that once the means of production were taken back, they could keep their hold on it.

Why are you arguing political shit with your family? It doesn't matter, your sisters can't take your guns away. Policy is not decided democratically in the USA. Uh... Yeah? I mean it seems safe to assume that you can fire faster with a gun than without one. Particularly since without a gun you presumably don't have anything to fire at all?

What exactly were they trying to prove with this claim?

Too bad. Their choice to be unarmed doesn't override the choice of other people to exercise their god-given right to be armed.

Mass shootings are caused by mentally ill lunatics, troons (which is the same thing) and allegedly "gun free zones" like public schools, where the shooter knows they are the only armed person while everyone else is disarmed. This is exactly why allowing people more opportunities to be armed and to engage in self defense is the solution, not more disarmed potential victims.

Also, exactly which "statistics" are they referring to? What definition of "mass shooting" are they referring to? The heavily publicized tragedy scenarios where whole schools of innocent kids get mowed down are still amazingly rare. Most of the so-called "mass shootings" people are usually pulling out of the air are inner city gang bangers shooting at each other.

One time a guy in my town used his goon in his own mouth and it blew off his nose.

But really you can't have sensible arguments with women, they're sheep who absorb the consensus around them. They're scared of guns because they are stupid and the TV tells them to be.

In the country, its often the women that can outshoot men. City gooners are the dangerous one, as you described, the dont check for a round in the chamber types. Maybe its the mentalility of a gun being solely a means of protection vs a gun as a tool, which is more in the country gun mentality, so safer gun habits. And why there are so many gun fail videos on youtube of city gun types being stupid.
That being said, a women with a gun is still scary, even more so. I think Annie Oakley and russian women snipers of WW2 would agree.

In a nutshell, their argument was that Americans are too stupid to have guns. They do not use them appropriately for self-defense, always overreacting, and they purchase guns and shoot people on a whim. To the latter, I brought up the ridiculousness of pre-crime (or I think I did), and they conceded that they'd be up for that sort of thing; taking the guns away from innocent people, in their eyes, is the best way to prevent the people who snap from killing more than a single person.

Their response to "gun-free zones" causing more crimes "we don't have signs that say 'don't merge into other people at an intersection', and that still happens". Their point being that gun-free zones are attacked because people to shoot are there; to which I tried responding with "another person with a gun on-scene could stop these bastards", but they dismissed that.

Its part of rural culture, at least where I am. But I am in the heart of goon country (the way I like it). Gooning is a lifestyle, not a hobby like city folk want to play at. Getting good at gooning is a family requirement.

Looking right now a good side goon. Ive been given the clearance to conceal carry (no open carry). Just need something that can motivate a black bear or alligator to move along. Not meant for people, at least thats the plan. *wink wink*

Gooning is a real mans job. You gotta get hands on, physical and deep in the trenches when gooning but the payoff is worth it in the end.
