So far, it's a laissez-faire form of governing that relies on personal perception as a means to preserve a personal person's OWN liberty.

If the Founding Fathers believed in libertarianism, there would be no need for our Constitution or having a republic to protect our rights. Because then, we'd have to assume that those rights are God given, rather than statutory through law.

Most of their arguments were taken directly from statists - we already have mandates for kids, bullshit data on hospitals being flooded with covid patients, vaccine passports having popular support, and of course the vaccine manufacturers swearing up and down that the vax was super effective and had no side effects like myocarditis.

And yet, we are in the midst of a health emergency, which means that suitably modified, narrowly‐tailored, time‐limited rules may be justified.

This mentality is so fucking naive. Ever hear of the concept of Geworfenheit? What we think are individual choices are not. For example, the music people like tend do so in a way predetermined by the time and cultural milieu they were born into. Young women who came of age in the roaring twenties had a strong tendency to like hot jazz music, do the Charleston, and dress like a Flapper. Similarly, a lot of people who came of age in the 90s liked rap music. Others liked grunge. Why, because those genres were part of their cultural milieu.

The point is not to dictate what the individual does, but to prevent undesriable elements in the culture from being normalized. This is why we have or did have laws against social vices, like prostitution, or illicit drugs. It is impossible to quash these things entirely but having laws against them deters them and also creates a stigma. It was a systemic failure not to use laws against prostitution against pornography. If it is illegal for A to B to have sex with A, I see no reason why that same principle should not apply to A paying B et al to commit sex acts in front of a camera. Now, because that shit was not dealt with, the porn genie is out of the bottle and cannot be put back in our current system.

Guderian is quoted to have said in allied captivity that the problem was never with national socialism as an ideology, but with Hitler. I myself hold a strong aversion to him, but I the Allies and the Soviets were worse. I for one hate Hitler, but for different reasons than most.

Okay firstly, the primary focus of libertarianism is to grant freedom to corporations. Once corporations attain more and more power, they will use that power to install regulations that secure that power.

Secondly, the government not forcing TV programs to have black people in it isn't a libertarian policy.
