Context is key, but generally the act should be equal to the revenge taken against it.

Like, if a woman on the street is rude to you, you wouldn't want to take revenge by stalking her home to beat her 8 year old son up to the ground.

But you can easily be rude back and that's your revenge for it. Or film her and expose her on facebook. I dunno.

For minor incidents it's useless, which is really the vast majority of shit that happens. Someone being mildly disrespectful to you isn't a case to get back, like whatever man.
If it's something bigger, then it starts to be a little more reasonable sounding.

i argue that take comes from people that have never been screwed over or betrayed before.
either that, or from spineless cowards who don't have the balls to stand up for themselves and assert their rights. victim mentality, cuck mindset, slave morality.

in my opinion revenge is generally a good thing, but you have to approach it from a rational and detached position. if you allow yourself to get carried away by anger, you sometimes end up doing things that you will regret later on because it turns out you misjudged the situation.

its good to hold on to the anger from an experience so that you learn from it, revenge is just closure.

closure, and more importantly deterrence.
when people know that fucking with you gets them hurt, they're less inclined to try you.
but when people know that they can do whatever they want to you because you won't retaliate, they'll keep coming back for more.

revenge is a basic human need in the smaller societies to which our brains are well-adapted. Greg the tanner fucked your wife, time to go curb stomp Greg in the town square to teach the community (A) not to fuck your wife and (B) that Greg is not only an adulterer but also a little bitch. even if Greg holds his own in the duel, the aggression and frustration have been spent and now the whole town is on the same page. everybody wins. when people aren't publicly getting revenge to express moral value then crimes go unpunished and society collapses.

the natural desire for revenge has been cucked away from us by a snake-haired masturbating monster we call "law". Lawyers and judges get all the rocks off that they stole from the citizen's natural right to seek + get revenge. citizenry can no longer really determine its own moral values in the public square, we leave it up to "experts" - who study and engineer a moral system so unnecessarily complex and pedantic that literacy in it is a lifelong commitment - to drain all the life and autonomy out of it.

People will tell you to serve it cold but I think that traditional wisdom is bullshit. I argue that revenge is best served hotter than the sun. You want it to scald the entire inside of your mouth while you're eating it, to the point where your own tongue is trying to minecraft itself just to get away from the heat. That's cooking kino.
