Today I productively used my time to write another XenForo add-on for subtitles. We used to have these way-back-when on the CWCki Forums, but it was also a mod there, and XenForo did not have equivalent features. Now it does.

My goal with this is reduce Lolcow threads down to a title, with a subtitle below that can contain the user's sales pitch for that person's entertainment factor.

It's different than what I'm used to but I'm excited to see how this goes. It might really help draw more attention to some overlooked threads around here that might get lost in the sea of content in Lolcow.

It's literally brand new and I have no feedback regarding its usage and how it shows up, so if you have any complaints at all let me know.

Are the subtitles for the originals lost? I remember the DeviantArt Horrors had one, something about painting with cow feces.

So when I go over to make a new thread, I can clearly see the subtitle box. It's a nice addition. It's just when I want to edit the existing thread subtitle, all I get is a box like this but with no subtitle option there.

This is an example of what I'm seeing now.

There's some conflicts with other add-ons. Just sorted one out, looking at the other now.

No. I've manually edited some threads in the Lolcow board already though.

I like it. It's more tidy.

Especially since some cows have multiple internet personalities.

This should be fixed.

I like it quite a bit - makes everything look a lot cleaner.

I also got it to work perfectly in Community Watch and made a change to a thread there.

My general complaint is that the left-align of the title and the subtitle should be the same. It doesn't compensate for mod checkboxes or thread prefixes which irritates me quite a bit. Aside from that, it's a nice simple mod.

This is a nice addition for people who mainly focus on one particular lolcow, to know if some other idiot is going to pique their interest without having to necessarily read through the first few posts.

The reason I picked this as something to work one was 1) I wanted the feature, 2) it's a direct segue to what I wanted to do with the MediaWiki bridge.

check'em. Small refactoring, works great. The actual LCW banner will be a lot more stylish.

I dig these a lot and I think they can help dramatically with the clickbait headline discussions we've had in the past.

Could you possibly make the subtitles a slightly lighter grey though? When they're bright white like that it almost looks like you've read the thread and there are no new posts because we've been trained that way.

edit: just realized that's on mobile only. On the desktop it looks perfectly fine.

Some more space for clickbait on the ADF subforum. Just as god intended.

This is kinda late but be sure not to post the words "Child Porn" on the subtitles because the thread will be removed ftom Google Results as a result of it.
