Thread to fix the 4chan code

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
First things first it needs to be rewritten in javascript using react, vueJS, and evey other retarted javascript framework, also port it as a electron app for macos, linux and gaydows
Next fix the UI. Make it flat, two color and less 2001. Start by adding a proper dark theme
And lastly: Fix the moderation, and turn it into a corpo ass hugbox owned by blackrock or some shit

Because there are several far better open source solutions for implementing an imageboard with a modern stack than the PHP abomination that is Yotsuba. For reference, the Futaba software that moot based 4chan on was deprecated in 2005.
There's basically zero added value remaining on Yotsuba as a proprietary software since it got leaked and busted wide open, whoever is running 4chan now would spend more money and effort trying to plug all holes and bugs on that rotting carcass than just slapping vichan or lynxchan on their servers and worry about making their backups compatible later.
 
Honestly, I'm surprised that a website which used to be targeted by three letter agencies has only recently been cracked open by a literally who? sharty.

At that point rewriting, improving and modernizing 4chan's code will take more time that just... Making 4chan from scratch. I mean, imageboards aren't difficult to figure out nor program.

4chan needs a successor and as I said it seems strange to me that there is still no 5chan or 6chan.

It just so happens that I have a great piece of code thst would fix 4Chuds issues. As a handy side benefit, due to the universal implementation of my code, it would come in handy to fix Reddit as well.

I've heard from a good source that the best way to fix 4Chan is to salt water bathe the server, followed by a brief microwave &/or toast from an oven (all the way up!).

I would not be surprised if the fuck all shitparty that passes for the code of many "alt-chans" is better than 4chan. The only reason they are slower is prob potato servers powered by unfed hamster.

perhaps it is best 4chan stay dead and something less infested with feds can take its place

There are already so many imageboard software options out there that can run on the shittiest computers you can find. You would be better off scrapping what 4chan was using before it got fucked over by the Sharty.

What was 4chan using anyway? Apart from fucking PHP, a 10 year old vesion of BSD (with no security whatsoever) and a poorly managed SQL database, again, with little security whatsoever. Honestly, i'm surprised the sharty out of all people would hack and fuck over 4chan the way they did, i expected the feds, some rando from russia, NK goverment or hell, even Anonymous to get there first, but the sharty??

4chan should've used a version of Debian because that's what nearly all webservers run anyway. Even when I tried running a shitty FTP server for my friends, it ran Debian.
