Threads being featured too easily?

How likely would it be for the posting limit required for a thread to be auto featured to be increased? It would technically help increase the amount of threads where something interesting actually happens in them, compared to an ordinary "Look at this lolcow" thread that crumbles to pieces once it leaves the featured section.

That just guarantees that only threads flooded with monstrous amounts of shitposting would ever be featured. Usually, the shitposting should only start after the thread gets featured.

I talked with @yawning sneasel and other mods about this, I suggested that the featured thread should be something they picked with there being another section that shows off "trending" threads that are getting the latest attention.

I did a shitty paint of it to illustrate.

Apparently enough if a thread in the lolcow section hits 50 posts within 3 days, it will be auto featured regardless of content or anything actually having happened.
