"The wolf drags Stryker to a cave, its home. From there, Stryker thought the wolf had to be a god-send but none of that mattered, not when the wolf jumped on his back. Stryker knew how gay this was. To be the mate of a wolf, a gay wolf."

Alternate version: "The wolf dragged Stryker to a secret cave. The wolf turned out to be an anthropomorphic furry, armed to the teeth. At first, Stryker thought the wolf would be his ally until he found out he's actually now the gay spouse of a gay furry. Truly, the mission didn't matter know, not when Stryker raged at the fact he is married to a homosexual wolf. Truly a disgrace to marines and wolves."

"Stryker woke up after that fateful night. He looked to see that his gay spouse was now cooking him a meal. Stryker could only think of the disgrace that he was bringing upon the United States Marine Corps. Looking to the exit of the cave, Stryker made a run for it. However, fate had other plans."

Tiberius Risings been getting a lot better these last few chapters, imminent prospect of Stryker drinking wolf cum aside, I like how Stryker's starting to have a personality, admittedly it's Jace's personality but that's still better than what there was (or rather wasn't) before.

Oh boy, 3 chapters within a week or 2? Surely this must be a new record for Jace (correct me if I am mistaken).

But none of that mattered now.

So it is telling a bit that John Ringos novels are "Realistic war novels" instead of "Escapist war novels" or something more fitting. Please don't think for a moment I am bashing escapism, but from the bits I read about John Ringo, he does admit that his characters in it are... Questionable. Very questionable. Spec Ops:The Line questionable, although they are not deconstructions of the millitary escapist genre, just examples of them.

And if Tiberius Rising was self-aware (instead of not self aware at all to *slightly* self-aware as it is now due to repeated criticisms about it) it would probably be... Good. Badass running from one area of the middle east to another with a bullet lodged near a vital, taking some 'painkillers' to remove the damn thing and getting saved by a wolf who will be his battle buddy? Kinda badass.

Unfortunately, Stryker is still a Mary-Sue rather then a Original Character, which of course cannot be ignored.

"Jack felt like a tiny insect caught in the wind of outer space itself."

There ain't no wind in outer space, motherfucker. Haven't you read the moon landing conspiracy theories?

I kinda wonder if Jace will go into excessive detail on Soap's appearance like the times he spergs about guns next chapter.

I wouldn't worry. He has no written description of Soap to copy and paste.

John Ringo admits that his Paladin of Shadows novels are cheap wish fulfilment that he never intended to publish. It was just something he wanted to get out of his system and in no way is it serious. Jace just thinks its serious because its more fun than the reality of war which is mostly incredibly boring and occasionally terrifying.
I can just imagine Jace complaining non-stop when he's stuck on base for weeks on end or assigned to a roadblock that maybe three cars a day drive through. He'd snap within a week.

This is me being way too optimistic but maybe he meant solar winds.
