I like Erin's content a lot, but there were rumors/accusations for a while that Chris cheated on his then-girlfriend (who was an ASMR... I don't even know if I want to say creator? She had maybe 500 subs and if memory serves deleted her account after they split, and she was messy as fuck about it on Twitter) with Erin. He definitely moved on to her very quickly. So - not to moralfag, obviously, we're on KF - not sure how much sympathy I have, or how well that relationship would have worked out in the long run.

I remember a couple of years ago when Frivvi made a video announcing she was "following her truth" and committing to mouth sounds despite a number of her followers giving her feedback they hated when she did that. I used to like her too but I stopped when she went all in on the ear eating thing.

ASMR was an overwhelmingly female genre to begin with, albeit a deliberately non sexual one.

This entire concept is completely retarded and likely thought up by a neckbeard who got pissy that all his MTG buddies got friends and girlfriends.

I promise you the core concept holds true. Has happened to half a dozen niche hobbies I've had. It's less about the feeeemales and more about having people join it faster than they acclimate to the norms of the hobby.

I miss asmr actually being audio-focused. Don't get me wrong, the visual triggers in videos are nice, but it's like people just stopped caring about the audio quality/3d effect and shifted more into everyone trying to have the most ~creative~ porn/reiki/quirky roleplays. Also soft spoken videos are relaxing, but half of them aren't asmr, just relaxing. There are exceptions, but it's getting harder and harder to find content sometimes (and the algorithm doesn't help but turning it off leads to a sea of shit porn so it's a pick between two devils)

Weirdly enough some of my favorite ASMR comes from people with kind of shit audio quality. Miss Manganese is the GOAT for chaotic/fastpaced roleplays but all she uses is a tiny shitty microphone. The lo-fi stuff genuinely does have a place in ASMR, but I agree overall the trend needs to shift back to being concerned about audio quality.

For me it's a cross between the visuals and the sound.

For example, (Fe)male ASMR doesn't always have the loudest audio, but the specific things she does and the ways that she does them really work for me.

That said, nothing is more frustrating than when something really up my alley (back scratching with some sort of tool, for example) has such low audio quality that you can barely hear it over someone talking in the video. Drives me up the wall. Constant speaking ruins ASMR for me.

"Ambient ASMR" is what you'd want to search for. There's fuckloads of it and several creators (Miracle Forest, Cozy Rain. and Moonlight Cottage are the first to come to mind) are actively posting new stuff.

Nothing says "relaxing" like a barber beating the shit out of his costumer, with the sounds of cars outside as a bonus.
I'm honestly surprised how that poor guy survives having his neck broken, or having a fucking stake shoved into his spine.

You want Indian ASMR you go no further than Sloth barber.

Off the top of my head - Phoenician Sailor, Dr. Adam, Moonlight Cottage, PuddingWhispers, Relaxing Male ASMR.

- PS is an incredible actor and his output feels more like a movie a lot of the time (IMO PS is what Jim ASMR wishes he was). His quality is great and the obvious care he takes when finding/making props/sets is wild.
- Dr. Adam is newer to me but he's (apparently) someone actually in the medical field so his stuff is realistic and pretty relaxing. I don't always love medical content but he's got a really gentle, relaxing voice, so it's good background noise.
- Moonlight Cottage is one of the ambient creators I mentioned above but she's even more cinematic than PS or Goodnight Moon. Wild amount of detail.
- PuddingWhispers is cringey as fuck a lot of the time and leans waaay into fanservice (he's got a genuinely gross amount of DDLG content on his channel) but he's a natural at soft whispers/soft speaking so the non-fanservice vids are great.
- RMA's soft whispers are the best in the game hands down. I barely ever get tingles anymore because I've been listening to ASMR so long but that dude can knock me the fuck out if I'm not expecting it. Have literally started nodding off at my desk in the middle of the day before.

Mostly dudes, but the female creators I like the most (Goodnight Moon, Gracev, sometimes Friv, ) are well-known. I still love some of SoftlyGaloshe's old (2014-2015) lofi content but her newer stuff isn't my bag. TingleBelle was great but hasn't uploaded since 2016.

It wouldn't shock me if she was poly, only because she's hot enough to pull it off, but she comes off as too much of a daddy's money princess to suck a dick at a public event.
