I get the feeling that ASMR has diverged into gendered categories. There's still some back scratching or tapping on bottles or whatever, but more and more I see either "hot chick tongue fucks an ear shaped microphone" or "chick that girls would think is hot spends three hours in makeup and costume to do something banal".
