She's around. I never knew about that, but I'd only found out about her last month and she's been active.
I get that they're playing to that set that likely don't even bother with ASMR and just use it as a girlfriend simulator, but I wish they'd use another name for it just to keep it separate from the results. It'd gotten weird enough.

I once entered an ASMR live stream out of curiosity. I guess they were trying to do it with mouth sounds, but I was immediately off-put by the use of a prepubescent girl eating a lollipop for the background visuals. After being honest with the host (I called them a pedo), they spammed loli porn in my PMs.
Don't do ASMR community, folks.

I think it's a bit much to even call it a phenomenon anymore. I haven't been keeping track but it really feels like the wind's gone out of the sails. A lot of ASMR artists are struggling to break view milestones they previously accomplished in their sleep.

It's because artists like Heather Feather have been overshadowed by dime a dozen cam sluts who get their tits out and do sexual ASMR.

A lot of female ASMRtists will defend camsluts' right to make shitty, sexy ASMR because of feminism or whatever, but honestly it just seems like a cheap and easy technique to get the most views. Cordelia Charter is ok I guess, far from the best setup or concepts, but she gets her tits out in all her thumbnails and plays up the "I totally play vidya games you guise".

Why take so much time necessary on videos of great quality and novel concepts, when you're going to get half the views of some girl who bought a Yeti and a low cut top?

Honestly I lived a phase where I used ASMR to relax and go to sleep. My favourites were eating video where people eat a large amount of something considered a delicacy. I dunno the concept of eating honey straight off the branch never occurred to me until this video.


But then there's eating videos like ol' mate DICKHUNTER's here:


And the community is overtly sexual. One of my mate's jerked off to a hair-cutting ASMR once and he claims it is "relaxing" and "kinda hot". I made an ASMR video once of me chewing ice (ice chewers + ASMR = ice crunching asmr videos) and I received a request from 1/9 of my viewers.

I just learned about this shit because the old lady is into it, I physically can't take it. The whispering, lip smacking flips a switch in me. I can be totally fine and relaxed, I hear that shit and it throws me into what I imagine is unreasonable but is to me completely justified rage. I can't take any more than a few seconds of it because it drives me fucking nuts.

Couple that with the fact that people actually get MONEY for this? Get outta here

Underneath that pretty face and soft voice, there's some bizarre vibes coming from this bitch. I shit you not. I used to watch her videos to help me fall asleep (actually this is the sole reason I watch ASMR) but after some time, I couldn't sleep to her videos at all.


Recently, her videos (BTW name's Latte ASMR) have been giving me a mix of cringe and uneasiness. I feel anything but relaxation.


Also, to those who watch her videos, I purpose a challenge: A shot of vodka for everytime she says "relax", "relaxing" or "relaxation". This girl apparently dosen't know any synonyms for "relax".

I've had this this same vibe with RapunzelASMR. Something 'off' but can't put my finger on it. It wasn't even the theme of the videos themselves, which is saying something. What is it about some artists? Is it just a compatibility issue?

I can't explain well but it has to do with the fact they go out of their way to make shit with different themes and end up sounding and looking awkward as fuck.

If you compare Latte ASMR to other ASMRists, her videos seems very off-putting with her fantasy RP or real life RP. If you watch Latte's video where she roleplays as a nurse and you'll know what I'm talking about.

Also, another cringy ASMRist is PPOMO ASMR, although this is becuase her English sucks like rimjob on a baboon's ass.

I feel exactly the same. It's what baffles me so. The sheer sound of lip smacking/chewing/etc just drives me up the wall. And paired that some of this ASMR people look like diseased goblins doesn't help the matter.

That makes sense. I have no issues with ESL/ELL ASMRtists even though I pay more attention to the sound over the visuals. Still, you can tell when some are going for the Flavor of the Month ASMR theme or executing some fucked up requests where things start out alright, and then kind of fall apart in the middle of the video. It really stands out when you know they try to stick to a deadline and want to get any content up, no matter how wonky...

I don't remember ever being bothered by the sounds before but the ASMR version of the sounds piss me off. It must be the way they crank up the volume or something.
For people saying the community is sexual--I agree. Though maybe it's the case where the obnoxious minority of the community is the loudest. One of my friends--claims to be asexual--is also into ASMR. Then, aside from the loli guy, I've come across a dude who told me he specifically enjoys the sexual ASMR. He was obnoxiously sexual about everything else, too. Randomly moaning, bringing the topic back to sex, and posting porn in places it didn't belong.
Are audiophiles like this, too?

Chewing sounds are something that annoys me... And what's worse, that is 70% of ASMR videos. In every ASMR channel you'll see a fuckton of chewing or other mouth sounds videos. These I avoid like the plague 'cause I go apeshit bonkers by the very sound of some bitch loudly chewing random food as my eardrums almost explode.

And if you haven't gathered enough hatred in your hearts yet you can watch the amateur ASMR videos. Imagine somebody whose gear is some cheap-ass microphone and/or them earphones.

As if those videos weren't cringy enough, you'll have to deal with interference coming from the microphone because those nitwits don't know how to properly equalize the fucking mic or the mic itself is shit-tier quality due to the fact they probably don't have enough money to buy a decent one.
