I want to like Tim Pool, but I can't. I just can't. Sometimes he can come off as kind of lazy when it comes to research, and that whole "I'm a liberal but I agree with the right on everything" shtick was so ridiculous. But really, I think more than anything, it's that he's such a draaaaaag.

Ever listen to one of his videos & feel like you forgot almost everything he said? It's because every single video of his follows the same basic formula.

Minute 1: Talk about a semi-interesting & relevant topic, usually saying something agreeable to most people.
Minutes 2-10: Repeat exactly what was covered in minute 1, except describing it in different ways. This cycles about three or four times a video, typically with some random sprinkles of different topics in-between.

I feel like he often brings up topics that are beneficial to talk about, but when he talks, he sounds like your autistic second cousin who can't stop talking about the newest Nintendo game during a family gathering. Thing is, at least you can click off a Tim Pool video. You can't really walk away from your autistic cousin.

I think even he forgets what he says. Back when I used to like his content, I tried to understand his politics and found it an incomprehensible mess. The closest I came to labels was Californian Democrat (i.e. NIMBY). It was the Kavanaugh video that got me to seriously question the virtue of centrism because he was fence sitting in the worst possible way. Christine Blasey-Ford was lying or she wasn't (spoilers, she was), but he fence-sat that way. The fastest way to summarize his politics is mercenary. Whatever benefits him is what he supports, so I understand why Lefties don't consider him Left and sees anyone who cites Pool as a BS Right-winger.

There was a time where Pool made good content and was on track to being a fully legitimate alternate news source. Unfortunately, he got lazy, he became full of himself, and he developed this complex where he can't stop acting like the world's coming to an end. It got to the point where I would just turn his videos off when he started talking about a new civil war or some other doomsday shit.

He's still better than the mainstream news, but that doesn't mean as much as it used to.
