So no, I'm not going to stay home every time I "feel sick". If I feel like absolute dogshit then yeah I'll stay home. But if I have a light cold or a stuffy nose, I'm going to fucking work.
Agreed, "Being sick" to me means actively vomiting, strong dyspnea to the point the room seems like it's spinning, cold sweats or massive constant discharges from any number of unpleasant places.
A headache is not "being sick"
An occasional non-productive cough is not "being sick"
Sneezing once in public is not "being sick"
So the smarmy "Just stay home bro" attitude is as tone-deaf and unrealistic as "Just learn to code bro" being sage advice to an unemployed person.
It ignores the fact that most people won't stay home "sick" when they have symptoms that wouldn't even let their Mom call them out of school 20 years ago.... besides, you can be asymptomatic, right? It's the dismissiveness of alternatives or graded response (you're either "sick" or 'healthy" ) that make the self-proclaimed elites and media personalities so insufferable:
Every problem is distilled down to a "simple" either-or, even when it's clear there should be more options....
But no, the social engineers and their cheerleaders only give you two options.....
Stay Home Until You Feel Ready to Compete In Olympic Event or Go Out And Get Arrested if You Don't Triple-Mask
It's no different than
Eat Meat and Kill Planet or Eat Bugs Save Planet
Also: Why does anyone have to (or want to) constantly disclose health information and Rx lists to strangers when you don't have to? I'm on routine hypertension meds, nothing strange for a 40 year old guy, and I would never think about just listing them out to anyone who didn't legally or professionally need to know (work, doctor) - the way people seem eager to treat their personal health as a political talking point is strange, rude and distressing all at once to me.
If Tim thought it was necessary to divulge COVID - why does he HAVE to say anything else about treatment except that "he's seeking/receiving" it?
