I don't believe his activity is a grift, as I believe he's genuine. Just not as smart as he thinks he is. I think it's a mix. Tim probably believes a lot of the crap he comes up with and thinks he's a genius for it, but I also think there's a level of grift to him that may or may not be nefarious in that he tries to appeal to everyone and often times inserts a lot of contradictory statements into his opinions so he always has an out instead of admitting to making an error. He's no Goldman, that's for sure, but I don't think he's completely innocent as a lot of what he puts out there he probably knows isn't his actual stance.

Andreas did show up to the first one and he did fail hard, the instructor had to make him sit on a box and stand up over and over in hopes that he'd figure out how a squat works. I'm guessing he decided not to show up after that.

In general, I think so. I don't agree with all of his takes, but he tends to get the facts of the story itself right. If you want to confirm what he says, there's usually at least one other lawyer in that circle of them, the one that really solidified during the Rittenhouse trial, who's talking about the same issue.

I think that goes back to his high school dropout, skater boy, anarchist days. It's basically, "I knew some guys in the hacker space a long time ago."

Correct me if I'm wrong, but anything he learned back then would be pretty useless now, wouldn't it? Technology has come so far, I don't know if any hacking tricks he learned would still work.

Wasn't he profiting off that by pitching water filters or disaster rations or somesuch? That comes very close to being a snake oil salesman or stock-scheme maven and I do not and cannot support that. Though, given that he no longer pitches that stuff as far as I know, he's constant yammering about it tells me that he might have bought into it for profit but turned into a twoo bewieiver (tm) or made him have to act like on instead of admitting he sold out.... hence the daily dose of "the end is near-er" , can't call him a fraud if he just keeps revising the date, rite?

Here's how you can tell the authentic from the Lolcows on Youtube. Do they still have a day job? Is this person making the video just some weekend hobbyist sharing his love of whatever, woodworking, beekeeping, plastic model building, Lego, whatever, in his spare time? Then he or she is probably a sane, well adjusted and reasonably informative individual who should be somewhat trusted in their area of specialty. Has this person given up the day job and taken up Youtube as a full time career? Then no. They are a complete and utter pants on head fool and a lolcow in development, soon to blossom into full cowdom. This is 100% without fail. As for who to trust for news? First party sources. Actual on the ground reports. Everybody has a camera these days. Believe what they show you. Don't believe the "Internet Famous".

That's going to be incredibly difficult because Google likes to handicap searches for shit like that constantly. Who are good first party sources? Is Andy Ngo still around or did he flee the U.S.?
