Tim Pool - 'journalist' who claims to be a sensible centrist & sucks Sargon of Akkad's wiener; Afraid of the Milkshake ANTIFAs

He's not wrong though. There is no independent media in China.
I am not disputing that, but Tim makes no effort to be a cagey wish-washy fence sitter about it. That's the point. He is, at this point, CRP for Taiwan.

Okay, seriously listen to this guy!

"I don't think it's a problem for America to engage in foreign conflicts overseas as long as they are justified. It's just that the military never justifies anything. They're always so cagey and secretive. But I don't think we should let China or Russia just take over all the countries in Asia and Europe."

First of all, yes he does. He explicitly stated that Ukraine was not something America should be involved in, even if Ukrainians are dying.

Secondly, it doesn't matter. Neocons were saying the exact same thing about Saddam Hussein and Iraq ages ago. "Oh no, poor Kuwait!" It's not our problem. It never has been our problem, and it never will be our problem.

I might run for president just to pull all the troops out of South Korea and make this NEET eat shit.

"Oh he seems smart! Later: What? ...wtf what a moron!"
I think this is a common phenomenon in general. Saying something idiotic with confidence can trick the listener to hold the same view with the same confidence. But you can only have so many fallacies thrown at you before you start scratching your head.

Once again, I will point out that Tim treats China very differently than the rest of the world. He asserts, repeatedly, that the media in China is all state-run and propaganda effectively mouth-piecing for the CCP. Now, you might personally agree with that, but Tim is usually very careful when throwing around accusations. He uses sources, he says "I'm not saying this, the New York Times is!"

No sources here. Tim declares, of his own will and opinion, that simply by being published, the media is approved by the CCP. Now obviously Tim has not set foot in China for years if ever. So how he would know this is anyone's guess.

He is chest-beating. He is willing to encourage war with China if China invades Taiwan. And why? Taiwan is not an asset to the US. It is indefensible. But Tim does not want China to turn around and help North Korea take South Korea. Never mind that again, that is not our problem. Never mind that South Korea has mandatory conscription and should be able to protect its own borders. No. We have to get into a war with China because Tim's family comes from their neighbor.
China: If Pelosi flies to Taiwan we'll shoot down the plane!
The US: Don't threaten us with a good time. GET ON THE PLANE NANCY!

There's also the wonderful fun of the Murray Gell-Mann Amnesia effect. You read an article about something you have personal knowledge of and realize it's utter bullshit, but then flip the page to the next article by the same guy about a subject you have zero knowledge about and believe it wholesale, despite the writer proving to you earlier that they're an absolute bell-end.

Tim occasionally has good moments where he'll put two fact checked contradictions next to each other to show it off (Biden says he has cancer, but the White House says the president was wrong so stop spreading lies, but Biden says we're not in a recession so you MUST believe the president and stop spreading lies, or whatever dumb shit it was) but then will turn right around, sometimes in the same video, and argue vehemently some point where his only knowledge comes directly from those same fact checked sources as though what they said and his opinion on it are ironclad.

It's part of why I generally like his live show despite getting a headache from a lot of his other stuff, as at least people call him on his shit and a good conversation can happen when he's not just in his own headspace, even if he does try to weasel out of it a little too hard sometimes. Friday's show, I believe, someone called him out in a super chat on Texas bussing illegals to DC and stated how it was malicious compliance as all other avenues were mostly exhausted. Really wish he'd done more than drop a "Fair enough." and quickly run to the next chat, but I'll grudgingly accept that he at least read it out loud.

but I guess so because Lake is too well known to bother wasting more than one or two nights a month on podcasts.
The more radical Right Winger people are much more willing to go on random shows and shit, which is why MTG ended up in Catboy Cum Hunters Anonymous. Kari appears to have also been on Michael Malice's show which got something like 40k views.

Wasn't she on Fox? She can't be that radical.

"The CCP is not the legitimate government, though they've been in power for some time."

That is beyond idiotic. Who decides which rule is legitimate? Us? Why would we decide that? The United States's influence in Asia is very weak. We have a minor presence in South Korea and our naval niggers occasionally dock in Japan to rape local women.

China is the dominant force in Asia. They decide who is legitimate and who is not. Might makes right, everything else is moral posturing.

You don’t need to be a fence sitter with provable facts that saying won’t get you removed.

Tim’s standard is not different. He’s always been totally ok with saying something he knows is right and won’t get him in trouble.

Can you get a screenshot of where she "vows to never return as a guest?" I've looked on Twitter and FB but didn't see her say that.

What a baby... It's common to get a cold or flu when travelling and being around different people. Just because a notoriously inaccurate test named it as the super duper ultra scary one that you only have a 99.9% chance of surviving doesn't mean you need to have a tantrum.

I suppose it's for the best she lock herself away on her mountain if that's the kind of person she wants to be, though.
