I concur. I dropped out my final year and got my GED. I’m far from a genius and I got top 80% without ever studying a single thing and was hungover the day of the exam. The bar for a GED is pretty low, but I wouldn’t ever hold it against anyone, especially given that many high schools will graduate kids who can’t even read or write above middle school level or even at all.
That aside, I saw tonight’s IRL guest is Mike Glover. Really interested to hear this one because Glover is a real one. He’s like Tim Kennedy in that he genuinely loved fighting and killing bad guys and would gladly do it all day every day. There’s an interview, I think it’s with Shawn Ryan (frmr navy seal) of Vigilance Elite, where Glover says that there’s nothing he would love more than be on active deployment and taking out bad guys.
Some guys are absolute warriors whose entire life is all about combat and Glover is one of those people.

I dropped out and got a GED when I wanted to got to college, it was pretty easy and most of the people in the exam were black people struggling with it. At least they were trying I guess instead of just dropping out and not even bothering to see if they could do it.
One thing I liked about Tim was he was willing to try shit instead of just following the preset path, but dude needs to not be so arrogant about it and he should probably encourage people to do more certificate and exam based shit like the GED to just keep them honest if they're actually able to bypass the system or if they're deluding themselves because they're falling behind. A lot of people tend to bitch about retarded shit when they don't succeed instead of trying to figure out if they or the system are the issue.

I remember after I finished my GED exam I was outside smoking and waiting for my GF to pick me up. This guy came out (scrawny young black dude) and he was talking about how hard the math part was. I got to chatting and his major drawback was that he just didn’t understand algebra at all and so he struggled a lot with word problems. (I LOVE algebra. It’s like a word puzzle with math) He seemed like a really nice dude so I told him to call me and we could meet at a library and I would help him. He stuck to it, so did I, and we studied 2 days a week for 4 hours every week for 5 weeks. I could literally watch his mind open up as I explained the concepts of basic algebra. He wasn’t dumb. He just never had anyone that cared to help explain the why and how of algebra on a personal level. Once he got that, it was a like a rocket ship taking off and the dude did amazingly well. He went from 25% in math to 70% in just 5 weeks.
-edit: I should add that I lived in a chocolate city. I was literally the only white person taking my GED that day. As Retink suggested, I do have much more respect for any poor black inner city people taking the GED than graduating high school. In my nearby city, the GED has drastically higher graduation requirements than the local high schools, where only 1/3 of graduates can read on a high school level. Which doesn’t even get into the writing deficit.

The reality is that monkeypox (mp) is like HIV. This was clear as day from preliminary evidence. Just like how COVID is aerosolized like TB in respiratory, and not more like MERS or SARS that are more droplet oriented. Yes, you CAN get mp from skin to skin contact, but only if there is transmission of fluids between sores and open wounds. (edit- and open wound to open wound contact that allows direct crossing of blood barriers)
The biggest shitshow of HIV was that by claiming it was something anyone and everyone could get (partially true), it ignored that the prevalence in gay males was because ramming your dick up another dude’s ass tends to tear the lining of their anus (bleeding) and the decreased mucus content of an anus (compared to a vagina) also invites minor tears for the person penetrating (bleeding) that created a blood to blood pathway. But there’s also the HIV laden cum dump that occurs after they’ve wrecked that torn up rectum, which incurs infection.
Even if a straight male had HIV, his chance of infecting of a woman with it is incredibly low because intercourse between men and women is less likely to incur tearing in genital tissue. My understanding, and I could well be wrong on this, transmission of MTF HIV during unprotected vaginal intercourse is extremely low, comparatively, because there needs to be a blood barrier breach. The deposit of semen in the vaginal canal cannot transmit HIV otherwise.

I remember a very non-PC AIDS pamphlet at a company I worked at in the early 2000s which basically explained all of this about AIDS. At one point it even came out and said something like "while calling AIDS a 'gay disease' is inaccurate since it can be contracted by anyone, the rate of infection among the gay population is significantly higher than other segments of society." Fucking based. These days the company would be endlessly, publicly lambasted for distributing such "homophobic" literature.
If memory serves wasn't the outbreak in the Western world attributed to like one gay guy, a French (or French Canadian) flight attendant who was essentially cooming with hundreds of guys in the various cities he stopped at? I might be misremembering but at the very least I recall his story from the film And the Band Played On that was based on the early days of the outbreak.

Herpes is a much closer comparison. Unlike monkeypox, HIV does not spread by droplet transmission or saliva and this sort of complacency is what will cause it to spread beyond the gay cruising scene, just like when AIDS was 'the gay disease' until it wasn't.

I think she was just a rotating guest who was in place of Luke or FreedomToons. Not sure if she's still on Pop Culture Crisis because no one watches that show, but I wouldn't be surprised if Tim exiles her at some point for using gamer words.
The funny thing is Tim's stance on race differences and achievement differences are purely political to show people he's no racist. When there's real study and science that is done on intelligence it actually shows the quality of the school doesn't change things that much and at most accounts for 10% difference, so just improving schools and resources doesn't actually change things substantially.
Good clip of a scientist discussing some of this on a podcast and I'd suggest people watch the whole episode as they get into how you're basically not allowed to look into if genetics plays a role in intelligence because the last few times they did it things didn't look good for minorities when accounting for things like opportunity and schools.
They even talk about a whole study that was done where the government set up Potemkin Schools to give under privileged children the chance they needed to prove it was just poverty, and turns out the only one of these schools that showed success known as "The Miracle In Milwaukee" was faking all of its data and every other school in the program showed you get about 5-10% in difference but the kids still don't come close to achieving things "privileged" students achieve. Then the whole thing was scrapped and forbidden because one researcher said maybe they need to start considering genetics as part of the equation as compensating for school funding, food, teachers, etc wasn't working.
It's also why hacks like Malcolm Gladwell are so promoted probably, because they find a way to spin it to show that the reason unprivileged people of one race still succeed (Asians and Jews) isn't because of something innate to them or their culture, but because their underprivileged situation is actually secret privilege because it makes them tougher and more resourceful, but those kids in the hood, they are truly underprivileged.
