This whole drama is retarded. If Tim was some sort of artist or animator who's never relied on fair use, I'd give him a benefit of the doubt, but Tim's entire network of channels has relied on fair use protecting his ability to read other people's articles. Getting butthurt over a second of footage, when he has years of other people's content he's relied on seems like some more Tim hypocrisy. Consider as well, Tim's reading of the articles replaces the need to read the articles and click their ads, theoretical damage to the sites that host the articles, whereas DeSantis' ad does not replace Tim's video.

But if I were him, I'd just put out a statement saying "Hey guys, one of our clips turned up in a Ron DeSantis ad. That's different, they actually pay to play those songs. It's no different than how your favourite clothing store get's to play music. They pay a fee and get to play it. If they don't then you have a case against them.
