Time - Why does it seem to go by so fast now?

Time is a beautiful thing: we meet new people; make new friends and family; grow and evolve. Don't worry about the blur. Don't worry about forgetting!

The people who love you most will never be mad at your memory. Trust me in that time is a blessing and our time on this world is even more of a gift.

Continue to smile, and if you ever need a cry (which is the strongest thing you can do), shoot me a PM so we can bitch about how unfair this world is together. You're never alone, tard.

It's partly the temporal grindshift as everyone mentions but it might also have something to do with how the past few years went. 2020 could almost be an entire cultural decade by itself and before then, the late 2010s were completely different from the early 2010s. Compared to everything from there, 2021 felt like a filler arc.

When you're 5 years old, 1 year is 20% of your life. When you're 50 years old, 1 year is 2% of your life. That's why it seems to go faster and faster.

I will say, though, that things have been stagnant for a while now so that no doubt helps. I mean, things really aren't that different in 2021 vs. 2011 (as opposed to say 2011 vs. 2001)..

I think hindsight also plays a part in into that way of thinking. Like when you're in the now, or looking ahead. Things seem like it'll take a long time. But when you look back on it, it doesn't seem so long despite it being years, even decades, ago.
