I honestly feel sorry for him right this instant. Once he was a diaperfur tier retard, pitiful and disgusting but naive and generally harmless.

This always makes revisiting his older videos bittersweet. What really drove me nuts about the housefire is that the county DID come out to look at the hoarding situation. Bottom line is that (regardless of how I feel about them) two humans almost lost their lives due to the physical manifestation of their poor mental health, and the people in charge of the public safety institutions that are in place to protect people from themselves did nothing. Call me an asshole if you want but I've never felt bad for Chris. The sole contender for a moment of feeling any sympathy for him is maybe when his father died, but even then, any compassion I might have for him is evened out by the fact that while Bob was dying in the next room, Chris was stripping to 'Fuck the pain away'.
Mental issues or not, at some point (and for Chris that point was sometime in 2007 or 2008 ) you are the cause of your own suffering. I don't have any sympathy for anything that happened to him and I can't bring myself to think negatively of any of the trolls for what they did, no matter how fucked up, because let's be real, Chris did everything that he did voluntarily. Everything. He never had a gun to his head and always had the option of just walking away from his computer.
Him becoming ever more insufferable through the years doesn't help either.

It was one of the instances where Chris wanted both things and wasn't accepting to compromise or sacrifice. At that point he had to have known Julay was fake: he went all the way to Ohio, and I believe this was before his PSN account was hijacked. You are right: the smart thing would've been to stop talking to Bluespike, contact Sony and resolve the issue. But Chris didn't have any friends and just had to play along. It would continue during the Idea Guy saga. I get Chris doesn't like being alone, but it doesn't help if he still has an obnoxious attitude.

Hindsight: Borb should have taken Chris to sped school so he can cope better and act right.

Exactly what I think about it. BlueSpike didn't tell him "SHOVE IT UP YOUR ASS OR I WILL KILL JULAY", no, he told Chris to choose between her and PSN account, Chris chose her. but wanted an account back anyway, since "he made the right choice". Then Spike presented him with options and out of all of them he chose a medallion without hesitation. Trolls didn't give it back and Chris just contacted PSN support and they gave it back to him, so he didn't have to do any of this. Years later he got hacked again and agreed to hump PS3 and sing "It's ok to be gay" twice, yet when he was told to sing it for the third time, he just said "I don't care, you can have it." Yeah, that sounds fucked up, but if you think about it, Chris actually did more for it to end this way than Bluespike.

Bob had more interest in Chris, as they were together more after they moved and Barb was still working. According to his letters, Bob knew of sonichu, Barb, not as much. They were more ignorant than neglectful (although the abusive babysitter story still remains to be debunked). At least Bob tried steering Chris in the right direction, but with his autism, Chris was pushing away from his dad, and gravitated more to his mom. The reason for this was that Bob was giving Chris constructive criticism, something that Chris hates, although he was closer to Barb due to fear and manipulation. The rest of Christory is that Borb had hopes that with their brand of parenting Chris could function, but it didn't turn out as they'd hope.

As an adult, Chris had to be held as the same standard of all adults living in society. The problem is Chris was raised as a spoiled egotistical child, that he didn't want to adhere to normal social rules, hence why this guy was getting into trouble with authorities as early as 2005. We can blame Borb all we want, but it's on Chris to decide as a 40 year old how to conduct himself. As it is now, I don't think Chris will.

I'm not saying anything new here, but the way that everybody he knew kinda systematically gaslit him into believing he was "high-functioning" in any meaningful way, and that he had good art skills, and friends that cared about him... That still gets to me sometimes. I'm not nearly the tard Chris is, but I was an awkward guy too. People pretending to like you because of some sense of obligation is worse than just being ignored or told to your face that you're disliked. At least you can take the knowledge that you're ugly, weak, and stupid, and work with it to improve yourself, or come to terms with your limitations and figure out how to redefine yourself in spite of them. Chris believed in a false version of himself back then, and when that image inevitably collapsed after there was no systematic effort to sustain it, he wasn't smart enough to understand why his life was suddenly horrible, and that had to have been a factor in going from gullible autist to full-blown lolcow from his 20's onwards.
