Tips for Anonymity on Youtube

  • 🐕 I am attempting to get the site runnning as fast as possible. If you are experiencing slow page load times, please report it.
You should also turn off googles ability to track your internet and viewing history, I have been served dramatically less personalized ads since I turned the tracking off. They are banking that nobody will bother. It’s not just the viewers who want your information after all.

as for the voice thing, it seems things like fifteen.ai has come far at imitating cartoon character voices, combine this with the purpose of a site like thispersondoesnotexist and you could probably get a good consistent fake voice for your videos if needed

only problem is someone hasnt made that yet
...and now we have elevenlabs for that, but it seems pretty cucked and locked down. still, progress is progress. sadly that one MGS2 meme video out there about AI being military only seems like it could happen.

can't edit this post leaving me to double post here but i have noticed an explosion in youtube narrative videos using AI voices, including some creepypasta and true crime ones(?) which means my prophecy of using an AI voice to hide your own has come somewhat true.

You can always use AI-based voice modification tools to alter your voice beyond recognition. Then just don't show your face, and keep details about your real life to an absolute minimum.

Anybody ITT that's familiar with the tenmuses (f1nn5ter's whale) dox? I don't remember the exact details, but it was cool watching that get uncovered in real time. Might want to check out the f1nn5ster thread and use it as a reference for some pitfalls to avoid.

Lucky for you @Polentic made a graph about how Tenmuses was doxed

Lessons learned in order of importance:
  1. Don't post your fucking name and city of residence on social profiles
    - (This is especially important if you use your name/initials and area code in your FUCKING PASSWORDS) :story:
  2. Use randomized passwords
  3. Use email aliases
  4. Use a VPN

Metokur is an example of how to do it right: it's not so much about remaining anonymous, but being sure there's enough conflicting identities out there that people can't tell which is which and just give up.
A lot of people get doxed cause they slip up in ways like showing their own desktop on a stream and having their Facebook open, being lazy with using the same usernames for everything, or not having a cover for their webcam and having it accidentally turn on. Just be careful to keep it separate and be extremely paranoid about what you have on your desktop at any given time.

Metokur is a good and bad example of remaining anonymous. I saw a video recently that tied together his history and he admitted that he fucked up. The truth is also that he started at a time that we didn't live in some deep surveilled state where people can tie your identities together.

My advice for people trying to stream anonymously is difficult because if you want it to be a living it becomes difficult. The rule that metokur broke is that he built a personality off a community associated with him, and with usernames associated with him. Here is the most simple way to break that sycle:

- New usernames, completely unrelated to your previous identity
- Unique passowrds, password reuse is how you find identities
- Make up details close to your real life but not the same

For financials it depends on your country. Some allow it to be a company, in a way you can make cooperate hiding difficult enough but that will always fuck you from a government spying on you. Autistic people on the internet don't have the same power most times but leaks will always happen.
