Titanic tourist submersible goes missing with search under way

I think people are giving the son too hard a time. I mean, if it was a woman who started dating again a week or two after her boyfriend was stabbed I’d agree but it’s just his parents. He might get laid at the concert. Come on, bro code.
now's the perfect time to shoot your shot. "aw shucks they're dead in a massive international news story..."

A conspiracy theorist would say that it's all part of the plan by 5 rich guys to disappear. But we shouldn't forget that many people are really that dumb.
Step 1. Say "Oh no, we won't be maintaining radio contact for an authentic Titanic sightseeing experience".
Step 2. Submerge down to 100 meters in a non-traceable disposable plastic single-use capsule.
Step 3. Put on diving gear, open hatches, meet an escape sub at the nearby evacuation point.
Step 4. Enjoy your billions wherever with no pesky child molestation/tax evasion charges attached.

Sounds plausible enough.

Wait a second they were using pure oxygen? Really? Do we have proof of that?
I think that's people picking up on the video by Sub Brief that I shared where he said basically "I don't see any atmospheric control sensors in evidence and we have no way of knowing if they were maintaining O2 levels by simply releasing pure oxygen from a tank". So we don't really know for sure, but it wouldn't be surprising based on the hubristic nature of this whole boondoggle.

I would definitely take the Alvin over the Titan.

Also something interesting I read on Wikipedia about the Alvin:

In an emergency, if Alvin were stuck underwater with occupants inside, the outer body, or cladding, of the submersible could be released and discarded using controls inside the hull. The titanium sphere would then rise to the surface uncontrolled.

I am betting the Titan did not have an escape system like this built into it judging by the photos of it. You would think a lifeboat type system would be mandatory on a DSV, but I guess some lessons need to be relearned.
What a great design. However, according to the retard who funded and led the Titan sub company, it was "designed by white men" and therefore is BAD.
Holy fuck, this is what the interior looks like.

I hope for their sake it sprung a leak and they all died instantly.

I can't imagine spending 96 pitch black hours in this claustrophobic hell pod waiting to slowly die of suffocation while covered in piss and shit.
The chemical toilet is in front of the porthole.
Imagine how much that money could've helped legitimate deep sea research and conservation. I hear the tourism associated with the Titanic wreckage has even caused a problem with litter accumulating nearby. Very shitty especially considering how many people lost their lives in the Titanic disaster (most of whom were poor).

Personally I'm all for rich people continuing to fuck around and find out with the ocean.
Yep, all the cash to kill a few billionaires. Meanwhile they could have kept entire species and reefs safe.....
Yeah... about that...

Reporter: "Pieces of this sub seemed... improvised"
"I got these from Camping World"
"We run the whole thing with this game controller"
Holy CHRIST not having a way to get out from inside the sub is INSANITY. Even KF you get to the surface you're still fucked.
From what I've seen they lost contact and telemetry when it would have been just a little past halfway down. So there's a chance they might have been brought up with the emergency lift bags and are tumbling losy in the north atlantic being tumbled and pounded until their oxygen runs out. while they can see daylight through the portal. Plus the bitch is carbon fibre. Which makes it harder for surface search radar to spot.

So many horrible ways to die.
Yep, the thing was a goddamn deathtrap and anyone who said so was fired by the retarded CEO. The only upside is that he died too.

That's fucking horrible I can't imagine how bad of a death that must be. Fuck that sucks :{
If they were lucky the hull failed or the porthole (that was only rated to 1300 meters) gave out, and it would have been so fast theyd not have had time to register it.
Worst case the power failed and they either froze or suffocated when the air went bad.

These people are fucking dead. This entire search is a waste of time and fucking money. Even if they found them there's no way to bring them up. They'd need the asset there right now plus the time to bring them up. The only way they're alive is if they're floating out up on top of the open ocean.
I agree it is a waste, but: a) It's not my money, and b) I want to see the condition corpses are in, bloody clawing marks on the walls and all that. If there's anything left, that is. Morbid curiosity takes precedence.
I've read they detected banging sounds in the area, my bet is that it's CEO's head being smashed against the sub's sole window.

Someone mentioned dehydration as a possible cause of death in this carbon fiber can and it occurs to me that 96 hours of "life support" of unspecified nature is one day longer than the three days it takes to die of dehydration. Also, no shitter. Not that these idiots don't deserve it but if they weren't explosively compressed their final time would be absolute hell.

You think they were down there, huddled up in a big gay pile trying to conserve heat, whispering about the rescue effort. Telling each other stories about how we're definitely holding candlelight vigils and national days of prayer in their honor.

Meanwhile, on the surface:

Here's a quick basic bitch summary of something I read in a book about submarines a long damned time ago:

When the pressure vessel implodes, everything in that sub is instantly incinerated anyways. O2 atmosphere will ignite when the pressure vessel collapses. Fried one second, shrimp food in icy water half a second later.
Pretty much, the air bubble and its "contents" are compressed like fuel in an engine cylinder and detonates instantaneously.

There is no way they are still alive at this point.
Could feel bad for a billionaire but could never feel bad for a Pakistani globalist.

Can somebody crunch the numbers on the cost of sending every Paki globalist on a Titan expedition? It certainly won't be cheap, but it will be worth it for the future of Britain.

The shocking part is they used a wireless controller. I don't even use wifi for important things, even if it's stable as I'll always go with a wired connection for anything important, so seeing that would have made me never get into the sub.

The retard owner also was afraid to hire old white men with military and underwater experience because he wanted to inspire younger people, which is fucking retarded. You can easily hire younger people and the older folks with experience to both be there, like you do in a plane with a pilot and copilot, that way you get the best of both worlds.

Also, Sam Hyde

On another note, I'm hoping they went out via rapid depressurization, I wouldn't wish the slow route of slowly asphyxiating over a period of days while waiting for a very unlikely rescue even if the sub was found on anybody.
I hope when they recover this in a few years, the video stored on their fancy smart phones is still intact so we can watch them coping and seething at the bottom of the ocean and maybe murdering the idiot who built this thing.

And sure the gummint (they mocked as incompetent and whose dumb "I wouldn't do that shit if I was you" regulations and sheeit from 50 year old white men they ignored) was going to rescue them any minute now. Because we're rich!
