This reminds me of a time when I took my kids to a castle near where I live. (Castle Rising for anyone who cares) It's quite a tourist site because its a beautifully preserved early Norman keep with blah blah roof blah blah stairway etc read the wikipedia article if you care. Anyway because it's an early Norman keep it features narrow winding corridors, tiny little doors and a LOT of steep spiral stairways. We were waiting to flash our National Trust cards for free entry (NT Represent!) but were delayed by a family of enormous tourists who were complaining that they wanted their money back because 90% of the building was inaccessible due to their bulk. I genuinely felt sorry for the poor girl behind the counter who can't have been a day over 17 and was desperately trying to explain to these people that when William The Conqueror invaded in 1066 he tended to build his castles with defense in mind and to that end failed to accommodate visiting Orcas 10 centuries later. Funnily enough I was talking to a friend who worked three summers at Dover Castle whilst at university and he claims that this is not an uncommon occurrence.

They should have invited them to sue William the Conqueror and given the Abbey of Saint-Étienne as an address to serve him.

How utterly fat and entitled do you have to be to think the entire world needs to stop everything and cater to you? How fat do your fingers have to be to take issue with touchscreen phones? Even the Slatons have managed to use smartphones, so you really have to be a heifer if you're having issues with that.

These people act like it would actually kill them to stop and ask themselves if maybe they're the problem. It's tin foil hat territory to assume everyone is out to murder the fatties. Fucking eat a vegetable or something, Christ.

As someone who's had a bit of dance training and does the occasional casual class, I call bollocks on that. Even people with 'natural' grace have to work damn hard to achieve the absolute, yet relaxed control that real grace requires. This has nothing to do with body shape. Some of the best dancers in my classes have been pretty chunky, but really strong, flexible, and extremely coordinated. Whereas a fair few of the skinny girls dance like robots.

The fact that this person believes that "thin people who just barrel through everything/throw themselves at furniture" are automatically graceful says quite a lot about she (of course it's a she) actually feels about her own body.

>my thighs most definitely bulge past my seat
>manspreading

What else is spreading the news these days?

Fatspreading should be a felony and the penalty should be being imprisoned on bread and water until you lose enough weight to look human again.

"As a black person ... I can discern between a general look and a more substantial one." She's got the art of being oppressed down to a tee.

"I was being punished for being fat by being refused treatment."

In short, the mod is told she can't be put under general anesthesia because of her weight, so she goes to a new doctor, who tells her the first guy was wrong. Now, I'm no doctor, and I'm not going to pick sides as to which doctor was right or wrong (though there's some evidence to show at least that it takes enough extra precautions that some doctors would probably not be willing to perform the operation), but the real gold here is that she blames her doctor for being fatphobic because he has a differing view on the situation. Annoying? Sure. But of course there's no way that maybe he, being a medical professional, thinks that she's in a dangerous situation because of her weight and doesn't just want to get at her for being fat. That's completely out of the question.

Generally speaking, surgeons may refuse to perform surgery requiring GA on incredibly obese people because firstly the anaesthetic has to be carefully matched to someone's weight, and secondly given people that big often have cardio issues or breathing problems, putting them under is like playing russian roulette. Bitch needs to understand the first doc was trying to avoid killing her.

Dunno if this... person has been mentioned on here, but serial cheater/liar/narcissist/chubmonster Ragen Chastain (an advocate for HAES who claims that she's an elite athlete) has been caught cheating at a 5K race. The best bit is that she managed it in one hour two minutes. That's a leisurely walking pace for most of us.

Oh yes, Ragen has a lengthy list of absurd, participation award accomplishments, such as finishing a marathon at the blistering pace of 13 hours. That's about 2 miles per hour. By comparison, a brisk walk is 3 miles per hour.

"After taking a photo, [Ragen and friend] wander off into the food vendor area."
Why of course!

I don't have thin privilege. I like my big heaping helpings of duck madras too much.

I don't whine about how I'm oppressed because of it because I know that I can gain thin privilege by laying off the big dinners, but can't seem to do so for more than a few weeks at a time without backsliding somehow. (Powerlevelling over.)

(I have enough thin privilege that I can still climb up 1 in 5 hills without stopping for a rest though.)

But that means nothing because according to Tumblrina Logic, I therefore must have internalised fatphobia. And that's one of the most insidious aspects of this whole HAES woo. The idea that wanting to do something about being a fat bastard is a bad thing and thus you should be encouraged to continue to stuff your face at the detriment of your own health because that is sticking it to the kyriarchy.

Ugh.

No wonder they cheat at fun runs.
