not losing weight even while exercising can be the result of a thyroid disease (rare) or eating like a fuckin pig and still expecting to lose the pounds. thyroid diseases are not super common and not all doctors/healthcare professionals are versed in them because they probably won't deal with a patient unless they're an endo. it's easier to assume the patient is lying about their eating habits, which is true in about 99% of fatties who don't lose weight
