What did he think? That there were people who knew of "tkoh" but not know that it was him? That the "silent majority" were scared to associate with "tkoh" but would be okay with just DSP? When more people know DSP by DSP?

But yeah, people would be disappointed because no one has given a flying fuck about his pathetic little nickname for most of his "legacy". It was at best an afterthought, so him moving away from it means nothing to any of his wheelchairs, dentheads or paypigs. So him making a big deal of it creates a reaction of "wait, that's still a thing?"

I had this “epiphany” while listening to his nonsense pahdcast while driving this morning. He’s doing this because he wants to sign with a YouTube partner network, right?

My hypothesis: He’s aiming to rebrand his public persona so people look at him different so he can rebuild the legacy of his gaming channel and get more and more people to flock over towards him. He’s pulling a digibro basically. I wouldn’t be surprised if he starts saying he’s going to be doing edited reviews and more varied like when he did KOGaming.

I mean ideally, he hits 200k subscribers this year and he celebrates with a big celebration. In addition Phil gets rid of all this “king of hate branding,” he starts releasing more and more content, gets more and more comments and interactions which means more engagement…I mean he HAS to be aiming to get partnered on YouTube, right? There’s NO way he would just switch from his vlogging (my spellcheck changed it to clogging by accident lmfao) channel to uploading all this stuff to DSPGaming, when he could be double dipping.

At least that’s my fucking lame-brain piece of dumbass shit conspiracy.

He's taking the preservative actions now he should have taken when he lost his managed partnerships. Three (?) years ago. 2018 Phil is finally getting around to fixing things that 2015 Phil should have been prepared for.

There is a Canadian LPer called ClementJ642 who started with a SNES game called Cool World, based on the fact that no one else had done it. Clement did not aim a camera at the screen in order to record this. He used direct capture. In 2008.

Today, Clement has around 130k subscribers, but YT is a hobby for him, not a career. He suffers nothing from being known mostly for doing LPs for all the MegaMan and Sonic games. His future isn't dictated by that sub count at all. He has left himself free to enjoy life and be remembered by those who know of him as a good dude.

I point this out because sometimes you follow Phil enough, you forget what normal looks like. You forget the impact that being abnormal has, absent of the normal person's life to compare it to. And it goes to show that being normal is all it takes to avoid being The Guy. With so many things you could tack onto that moniker that it's insane.

Shit, some people like Clement could having a "Whoopsie" and be seen jerking it on camera and recover from it as long as they're not abnormal about it. Being permanently full of shit is just as abnormal as his oddly-shaped head is, after all.

I've seen a bit of confusion about how the rebrand was done.

People seem to be under the impression that an entire forum and webserver migration was done which isn't true. Literally all that happened was he bought a new domain name and updated the domain name servers "A records" to point towards the IP for the old forums.

You could theoretically own a domain like nazihatphil.com and point it to the IP for forums [Don't do this]

Its an easy thing to do that Phil's done before onyx was on the go. As for working with capcha API's I think Phil might be a little lost on that one.

Sorry to be a nerd but this wouldn't work because the website's TLS certs wouldn't match the domain name so you'd get the "This website is trying to steal your information" screen on your browser (unless you're a caveman and connect via plaintext HTTP).

It is still a super easy process however. You just buy a new domain name as you said, use Route 53 to set the A and AAAA records to the server, then use certbot on the server to get new certs.

It could have been deleted because someone was going at Kghaleon so he decided to erase all. But his normal MO should be to delete comment, ban user and maybe lock thread, not get rid of everything.
So I'm not sure.

On another note, DSP's online activity was disabled so you can't tell when he's in, but if he reads your Dm it will show when he did. Like a buffoon he was told so by one of the people there but never answered.

I have to say that the end of the thread is both hilarious and ridiculous, had a good laugh.
It's like someone entered the office and started yelling things DSP does not want to hear. They start to cause chaos and disorganize everything in the desks while KG stands there with his mouth in the walkie talkie, threatening to call security and pretending he's calm minded.
