To be a leftist, is reality a threat to them?

Is this Wraith's worst thread yet?

People will always argue against the truth when they have some kind of strongly held belief or insecurity. Fatties do it, the religious do it, those split into different colours of politics do it. The fact that these groups fall under the same political banner is more of a coincidence or a slight of hand to create more useful idiots by politicians.
Everyone has their own interests and topics they don't give a shit about.

I try not to be split people in political groups when seriously talking about them since it's reductive and reaffirms the 'us-vs-them' mentality and turns the importance of politics and lawmaking into sports, as well as just calling people 'left and right' is stupid as politics isn't really a spectrum or a horseshoe or whatever.

Reality has no bias, it just is. Left and right are just stupid misconstructions humans made up to try and make sense of it. It's like math, in that math helps explain the universe, but dumb and shitty. The only reason the 'left' is the crazies right now is because they're all piggybacking off each other to try and get whatever issue they want dealt with. If the right was in charge the same groups although with slight differences, would be yelling the same things and trying to get the same results but coming at the problem at a different angle.

People have already had this argument many, many times. This thread will add nothing to the argument, other than yet more condemnation of the far-left.

Well, in communism everybody needs to be equal (except Stalin, who totally was more equal). This creates all kinds of fuzz if somebody thinks he's inferior in some regard compared to somebody else. But is that really a flaw of communism. I mean communism and thus the behavior of lefties work so well to dismantle everything. Everybody against everybody else. Dismantle me this, dismantle me that, fuck the patriarchs. These people are good at crashing it all, and that is what I want to see.
(If I don't get at least 4x Autistic for this one you people are all part of the white slim fit hetero patriarchy.)

people naturally form a framework of beliefs about the world. this is fine to an extent, in fact it would be difficult to function without some degree of underlying assumptions. however, once beliefs become set in place, it can become uncomfortable or painful to modify them. as long as beliefs are consistent with reality, this doesn't present a problem. but when beliefs and reality part ways, people often choose to cling to their beliefs and reject reality. once insulated from feedback, a person can veer off onto strange and self-destructive paths. I see many examples of this -- fundamentalist ideologies, religious cults, the mindset of lolcows, to name a few.

Ideology is lens used to interpret the world and so far, while it has perhaps been useful, has always been inaccurate device. It is as if looking through a piece of glass and each strain of thought is glass that has different warp or crack in it.

You couldn't even discuss this topic without factoring Chris Chan into this! He's like the ultimate scapegoat for self-loathing faggots on the internet!

Chris Chan was retarded when he was right wing and was still retarded when she became left wing.

Chris is the answer to the thread. Retarded people will be retarded.

It's not these women denying reality. You're putting too much thought into this.

It's all about the theatrics and the attention.

Many people want to be seen as a good, upstanding, awesome person. But being a good, upstanding, awesome person requires effort and time and it doesn't often pay off or get recognition. It can get recognition, and be quite the praise-party. The left (and to some degree, the right) is full of people who just want that recognition, so they indulge in theatrics.

Whether those theatrics are on Twitter or some kind of shit-show like fat chicks smashing their scales, they'll do all the mental gymnastics and bizzaro-logic exercises they can to be "right". That way they get their moment of being a hero.

I blame social media. People weren't this idiotic when the only way you could voice your opinion was to a group of people that could point at you and laugh (or beat the shit out of you) when you spewed your thoughts out into the open. Back then, the weirdos who did shit like this were standing on milk crates, holding signs, and reading Bible verses from a dirty phone book.

The fringe elements, definitely.

But that comes with the package of being fringe.
