Today I have... Thread.

Since the local Hastings is going out of business, I went over and bought a bunch of horror DVDs and 10% fancy sodas. Here's what I got...

-The Midnight Horror Show
-Piranha
-Dead & Breakfast
-Children of the Corn (the 70's version)
-Creepshow
-Killjoy series collection
-Snoop Dogg's Hood of Horror

Funny, I just saw that they were going out of business. There were no hastings physical locations where I lived, but every once in a while they'd have an online sale and I'd get random stuff from their gohastings website (which is now just a Back to School sale banner).

5 years ago, I got a really sick Pulp Fiction shirt from Hastings that was the movie poster done up to look like the cover of an old pulp novel. An ex-girlfriend fucking stole it.

They weren't one of my favorite online retailers (the shipping price sucked) but I liked them just fine. RIP, Hastings. :c

So not to get off-topic, today I....mourned Hastings.

Went to work. Swept the floor at work only for a woman (who was on the phone the entire time she was in the shop) and her bratty kid to walk THROUGH the dust pile I'd swept up and trail dust and dirt through the shop. My boss was NOT amused.

Good: I got to sit in on a demo for a new color line my store is carrying and I'm really excited to try it. The rep running the demo let me have a technique guide so I'd have all the formulas the company has released and I could play around; there's one called "Pink Quartz" that is gorgeous and I can't wait until I need a touch-up so I can test it out.

Bad: it rained for the fifth day in a row and my left elbow now looks like it swallowed a grapefruit. I had to wear a jacket all day.

I went door knocking for a client today. I got roped into a nearly half hour conversation with an elderly man who is convinced that Trump is going to "get ridda all them damn Mexicans, build a wall, run the country like a business, which it was meant to be, and make America great again!" This man also didn't understand that municipal elections in our state tend to be in August, and thought I "was trying some funny stuff" to keep him from voting for Trump. :sighduck:

Went to work planning on doing a four hour shift without breaks, ended up spending an extra 2 hours there (still didn't take a break, my own fault.) Went to a local Diner chain afterwards, only to be welcomed by the voices of kids sperging at a family get-together about 15 ft away from me.

another bystander 911-call made when out playing pokemon (was walking around downtown and found a guy collapsed and unresponsive/slightly blue, having an overdose)

Listened to the new Trevor Something album twice.

I saw "Suicide Squad" today. While it was much better than I expected it to be, it certainly wasn't worth threatening to shut down a site for.

Went to an art gallery for a tv show, bought a print to frame and hang when i get my own place.

Subject of said print ('Summon demons for fun and profit') made my dad question my taste in entertainment.

Hung out with the cats, made some poached eggs, hung out with the cats some more, filled out some job applications, meditated, made some coffee, made some more coffee, hung out with the cats some more, checked bank balance, played gitbox, fed cats, sandwich, jerked off, listened to quite good but overlong album, laundry, watched movie, had brief but surreal conversation with friend, this shit.

Adventurous life? No, but it's mine, so it is.
