you know, when I think of someone who uses the word "hikkomori", "lolicon" and so on, I never would imagine it to be someone in his middle age until at least the year 2025-2030.
I wonder if we can find some blogs of his where we can pin point how long he's been into that.
sounds like a pretty cool grandpa. They're out there. I know a guy who's in his 70s now who regularly posts Hatsune Miku vids and even has several figurines. He was raving just the other day about how awesome Overlord II is. Guy was a councillor of some note in his locality for years and got into it because of his grandkids, then legit got into it himself.
He's even been to a couple of Hatsune Miku concerts and seems to enjoy his new hobby.
Also, isn't Hikko watsit supposed to refer to female hermits? I seem to remember reading that once.
I wonder if he likes browsing Kiwifarms.
>Manlet
>5'4
Shit, he's one inch taller than I am.
Jokes aside this is a really good OP. Tons of information and everything is all neat and organized. I like it.
I honestly think the dude should be put on a 72 hour psych hold. Or have another psych evaluation done on him and have the state give him a tard wrangler or probation officer.
What an absolute anomaly

You can find pretty much anything. The only regulations the FCC has on HAM content are it can't be incident(obscene?) and you can't use it for business purposes except in specific circumstances. So you can't go on screaming KILL ALL FUCKING NIGGERS without someone reporting you, but you can wax poetic all day about how black people are subhuman pavement apes and should should be rounded up and killed. Don't cuss or use slurs and you can say whatever you want. There is a lot of FEMA camps style conspiracy stuff out there. If you search for arrests related to FCC complaints you'll find guys who've been assholes over the waves for decades. They get in feuds with the FCC or individuals that extend through all the forums and the people get well known. It's a lot like the earliest days of the internet. The /b/ of ham radio, you say? That sounds promising. What other weirdos hang out there?
...that's a really cute looking home, dang.
Anyone that age and a fan of anime probably went through being a fan back when you had to trade copies of a copy-of-a-copy-of-a-copy-of-a-copy digisub VHS tapes through the mail. It was a lot of work being a weeaboo nerd in the dark ages. Anyone can get or make fansubs now, but you needed studio equipment back then. Imagine the effort, postage, and blank tapes required to get through a show with 50 or 100 episodes.sounds like a pretty cool grandpa.
Hey may be a hikki, but at least he's trying to get out there and date.what a champ
Yet isn't hikkimori (however the fuck it's spelt) an 'old dude' term? I thought the hot young shut-ins these days call themselves NEETs.
a Hikikomori is someone who secludes himself as a hermit, it's similar to NEETs, but hikkis can have jobs too.
Now that I think of it, yeah. NEET was more common thing to say until recent memory. most of the new generation of memesters use NEET.
As do many societies, Japan exerts a great deal of pressure on adolescents to be successful and perpetuate the existing social status quo. A traditionally strong emphasis on complex social conduct, rigid hierarchies and the resulting, potentially intimidating multitude of social expectations, responsibilities and duties in Japanese society contribute to this pressure on young adults. Historically, Confucian teachings de-emphasizing the individual and favouring a conformist stance to ensure social harmony in a rigidly hierarchized society have shaped much of East Asia, possibly explaining the emergence of the hikikomori phenomenon in other East Asian countries.

The Japanese education system, like those found in China, Singapore and South Korea, puts great demands upon youth. A multitude of expectations, high emphasis on competition, and the rote memorization of facts and figures for the purpose of passing entrance exams into the next tier of education in what could be termed a rigid pass-or-fail ideology, induce a high level of stress. Echoing the traditional Confucian values of society, the educational system is viewed as playing an important part in society's overall productivity and success.[23]
Beginning in the 1960s, the pressure on Japanese youth to succeed began successively earlier in their lives, sometimes starting before pre-school, where even toddlers had to compete through an entrance exam for the privilege of attending one of the best pre-schools. This was said to prepare children for the entrance exam of the best kindergarten, which in turn prepared the child for the entrance exam of the best elementary school, junior high school, high school, and eventually for their university entrance exam.[25] Many adolescents take one year off after high school to study exclusively for the university entrance exam, and are known as ronin.[26] More prestigious universities have more difficult exams. The most prestigious university with the most difficult exam is the University of Tokyo.[27]
Since 1996, the Japanese Ministry of Educationhas taken steps to address this 'pressure-cooker' educational environment and instill greater creative thought in Japanese youth by significantly relaxing the school schedule from six-day weeks to five-day weeks and dropping two subjects from the daily schedule, with new academic curricula more comparable to Western educational models. However, Japanese parents are sending their children to private cram schools, known as juku, to 'make up' for lost time.[28]
After graduating from high school or university, Japanese youth also have to face a very difficult job market in Japan, often finding only part-time employment and ending up as freeters with little income, unable to start a family.[29]
Looking for love you say? I know the perfect person. They're so sexy back in the day boys couldn't decide if they wanted to kick their ass or fuck 'em. They also hate the government, the police and have a very lax idea on the concept of consent.Hey may be a hikki, but at least he's trying to get out there and date.

Cute how he lies on his dating profile. Arrest record shows he is 5'6, not 5'9. Also, he has no job.

His arrest situation is a current topic of interest on F169, so if you are following the current happenings, you may want to keep tabs on this.
