They were discussing that on the BBS. There was some talk that since hateandflame went down, that a member could bring another board out of retirement to fill the gap. The board was called nimbusters and semi well known as a complete shitshow when it was active. Nothing seems to have come of it since it was talked about a month ago.

There around 3 hours worth of vods. Skipping through very quickly I didn't see any freakouts. Chat was just asking innocuous things like about anime or his cats to get him to talk. Twitch archives chat along with the vods. There were from obvious references to the farms in some names, but nobody acted like an autist from what I could see. I wouldn't count on chat being so chill lasting. Remember that enough people hate this guy that they got him thrown in jail and there's an FBI investigation to find who impersonated him and made terorristic threats against a school. That kind of heat might keep trolls away, though. Hopefully he gets his computer back soon. Getting back items entered into evidence can be a huge pain in the ass and I'm sure the FBI is going to keep it until their investigation is complete. They might have to keep it through the trial unless the records and analysis that Toddy couldn't have made the threats are sufficient. I don't know much about the courts and lawyerin' an' such. @AnOminous ?

edit. A couple guys do come in and try to provoke him late in the stream, but he doesn't bite. Maybe they got him on meds in prison.

I think the policies have (in some places) devolved into some situation where at least sometimes, they just raid, mirror everything, and sometimes don't even leave with the drives themselves unless it's specifically because the drives themselves contain contraband like CP or warez or whatever, and in that case, you're unlikely to see them again without spending significant amounts of money, because they don't really view at as their responsibility to sort out contraband from stuff you're entitled to get back.

If it's just normal evidence, though, you should get it back when there's no need to keep it.

With professional mirroring, though, by forensic experts of some sort, the copies are more or less identical to the originals for evidentiary purposes.

Considering the specifics of this case, though, I doubt this dude (or anyone outside of law enforcement) is ever going to see these drives again. I may be speculating as to what they may contain, though.

It's been a month. I'd have thought they would have any cp by now. Would it take this long to bring charges? I guess I'm showing my ignorance about child porn and how it get encrypted, etc. I know it can get sophisticated. We also don't know how long the FBI has had the HDDs either. The local PD may not have been able to find/crack the files.

While I have no insight into the mind of a true sick fuck, I would be willing to bet that the majority of lolicon fans and even probably most minor CP collectors who don't actively trade huge volumes of kiddie smut back and forth go much beyond hiding their folders with the windows options so family members don't stumble across it and maybe putting a tough password on the folder as well.

Either of these options would stop a forensic analyst for about 10 seconds. Unless the claim is that this guy is a major distributor, I wouldn't think it would take very long at all to determine what kiddie smut if any is on his HDs.

Hey Todd. We basically require verification for people with threads so some jackass can't come here and pretend to be you. Verification doesn't take much at all. Just post "hi Kiwi" or anything like that on your twitter and link it here. then its cool if you take down the verification. Otherwise, you could be anyone, and judging by what happened with the idiots on hateandflame, people do like to pretend to be you, which is trash.
