In the States all she's got as a hit is 'Can't Get You Out of My Head', and the only other time she's popped onto the US pop culture radar was when she played Cammy in the Street Fighter movie.
Her cover of The Locomotion from the late 80s did pretty well in the charts, but nobody remembers it in North America.

She also had "Love At First Sight" but I don't think did as well...you could say that was the "failed follow-up" over here even though I vastly prefer that one over "Can't Get You."

Obviously it was in the UK, but it made it over here too, she was in an episode of Doctor Who back before it went to complete shit.

I guess the question is if she’s so big there’s no way she can be justified as a one hit wonder. It’s kind of funny how little Australian artists get American airplay, and the last one was Iggy Azalea.
Todd's criteria is entirely based on what their popularity was like in the US. He's covered many artists who were popular in Europe, Canada, and just now Australia, but only had one hit in America so they get put on the show.

As for Kylie Minogue, I just looked up the list of One Hit Wonders and she's not on there. I guess she had a second or even third hit.

Here's April's monthly slop instead:

I legitimately have never heard of this song or band in my life even though it's supposed to be a gay anthem when I have a lot of alphabet friends. Then again, I was not born in a British penal colony either.

His obvious discomfort when talking about gay shit as the typical libcuck straight ally cracks me up, though.
he's gonna end up covering robbie williams for this show one day isnt he?

You're telling me KYLIE is a one hit wonder? Do Yanks listen to anything?? She's a Madonna-tier popstar over here.
Yup. She became very popular on the back of being introduced into "Neighbours", a very popular Australian soap opera and particularly her character's romantic relationship with Jason Donovan's character. On the back of that she (and Donovan who she did the duet "Especially For You" with) became part of the Stock, Aitkin and Waterman (SAW) stable. SAW were producers/writers who turned chart topping bubblegum/disposable pop into an industrial operation. They dominated the charts and were detested by the critics though they had the last laugh by putting out a record (Roadblock) under a false band name, achieving critical acclaim and commercial success with it and then revealing it was them all along.

She had incredible success from the late 80s and continued with acting roles and more "credible" music since. It didn't hurt that there was no shortage of what we would now call simping for her (my first ISP had a home page with a game on it called "Dress Kylie" and it was every bit as creepy as it sounds) but she always handled herself well. No public scandals (despite a relationship with Michael Hutchence) and is a generally well regarded and liked celeb. When her cancer became public the sympathy was widespread and genuine.

It’s always interesting to hear how foreign acts are perceived in their home country (even if Todd considers Canada an exception to the rule).

I thought he did Take That before but it was another much better channel https://youtube.com/@trashtheory
Trash Theory. Who covers the same ground sometimes but mostly focuses on British music.
God, I hope so. "Millennium" then, I suppose? Probably not "Rock DJ." Maybe "Angels"?
Millennium is the song I remember from VH1, although Rock DJ had that laughably bad music video.

IMHO, I think she's more of a two-hit wonder here in the USA. She had "Can't Get You Out Of My Head" back in 2001 and prior to that, she also had a hit with her cover of The Locomotion in the late 80's.

Kylie's version of The Locomotion was enough of a hit that it did chart well and you'll occasionally hear it on Classic Hits radio stations, though nowhere near as often as other pop hits from the same era.
