Tom Hardy is the next James Bond - We got our new 007, everyone!

Finally some good news. It appears Barbara Broccoli isn't as retarded as she seems. I mean, apart from Casino Royale Craig's stint as bond has been pretty rubbish.
Or else one of the other major stakeholders in the franchise found a good tard wrangler for her to keep her away from making creative decisions.

I have not cared for Bond since 1996

Why is it always Idris Elba? There's more than one black british actor out there. Fucking tumblrites were demanding him back when Craig was cast, too...

Anyway, if they don't cast Aidan Gillen as Felix Leiter, I'll be super pissed. He's CIA, dammit!

He has aged well, he is generally rather down to earth, he does the clever thing and stays away from identity politics, he is relatable. He seems to be following the Will Smith guide to be white people's favourite black actor.

Also, he's unlikely to a Will Smith tier meltdown.

I think this will be an improvement on the Craig era. Daniel Craig always felt like he hated being Bond. Have someone who can enjoy the role for once. Cut back on the crying, and moping and have him go back to being a debonair, charming, driven, psychopath. By they way, you don't need girl power scenes to sell the movie to women. Just have Tom Hardy be hot in it, and women will show up. while pretending to be dragged there by Husbands/Boyfriends.

All they know is big consoomer franchises, and he's the only one who's been in the Marvel movies apart from Chiwetel Ejiofor and he was barely in them.

But Tom Hardy hasn't been cast as James Bond..... what the fuck is this thread?

The Idris Elba thing has always confused me, I always felt there were racist under tones of a respectable English black actor, therefor Bond. Nothing I have seen him in, Dark Tower, The Office, makes him at all seem suitable to be Bond.

Cloned Picard, like Superman, has too much of a career to be chosen.

Making Bond non-white has a fundamental issue, the character is white. While there are different versions, a non-white version would be fundamentally incompatible with the previous versions and the time periods they are set. If a non-white race is reflected in any way with the character's experience in the world, then it further separates it out from being the character. To just one with his names and tropes. If they don't address it, then what is the point?

They'd be better off not race changing.

The thing is, why is it even a discussion? He's a white character. Why do people go, "let's make him not white." That is the real question.

Do they want to get rid of a white iconic character?

Do they think it is some sort of achievement or milestone to cast a non-white person as a white character?

I just don't understand it. People say it's time to do so, but I just don't get it. Why? Surely it'd be better to create a non-white english character that can compete? It's not like there's a limited number of characters allowed to be dolled out. I have to wonder if fundamentally, people don't believe an original black character in film could become iconic on a level like Bond. Which is just sad, and incredibly racist. Why don't they think one can be created?

If one was created it would have it's own legacy. It wouldn't just be the black version of James Bond.

Honestly, I'm still on the boat that Henry Cavill would be better. Pretty much everyone loves the guy & he actually gives a shit about things he works in. We even have a good audition tape on the matter, it's called The Man From U.N.C.L.E.
For me, Tom Hardy looks too "thugish" to pull off Bond.
True, but he still gives less of that vibe than Craig does.

Henry Cavill would be an excellent choice. I don't know how people would feel about him playing two iconic characters in media (Superman & James Bond) at the same time.

IMO, he's too fat to play Bond. At least, he has a very fat face. Craig was already pushing it with his round face, but Tom Hardy would just look worst.

Still, it's nice to see Eon didn't bend the knee to woke casting. I hope those idiotic journos making lists that get published daily, nominating Idris Elba or a woman or some unknown sandnigger/chink/beaner just shut up now.
