Tommy has the same problem as the Birdemic guy. They both made their own outsider movies with some genuine heart. Then they both caught on to the fact that people enjoyed them for the wrong reason and started playing up the kooky tard angle to keep the gravy flowing. It doesn't feel genuine and you can't recapture lightning in a bottle especially if you're already in on the joke.

I'd like to see him host a discussion panel/talk show podcast type dealie. This would probably be the best way to showcase his lunatic moonman persona as long as he has someone to keep him generally focused and that he tries to be himself without playing up the Tommy persona. Real Tommy is nutty enough and kinda endearing. The fake one that appeared to capitalize on the success of the Room is neither. He just comes of more like a weirdo than an alien.

This looks like The Mike Tyson Mysteries, except Tommy is not nearly as funny or articulate as Mike Tyson.

Tommy and The Room were a freak show, nothing more. You watched The Room to gape at the spectacle of a delusional euromale's vanity project crashing and burning. There was never any substance to it, and when the enchantment of the spectacle subsided, you were left with nothing.

I wonder what the pitch for this was. I bet the meeting was in a bathroom and involved wild gesticulating and saying "This is going to be Mike Tyson Mysteries crossed with Rick and Morty! It's unbelievable no one had the idea before" as some guy did a line of cocaine off another guy's dick.

A good part of the reason Tommy was special in "The Room" was because of his exaggerated body movements and funny facial expressions that added to his weird speech.
I don't think this limited animation does any favors to his style of acting, he's not a good voice actor. He should be on camera for all his projects, an animated series is the last time any fan of his wanted.
