I was a really young lad playing pokemon showdown back in the day when i heard about this dude (~2015), i was really addicted at climbing the ladder at that time and i jumped in the bandwagon of hating that dude along with other smogonites.
VGC is the shitty format used by Nitendo to host flesh space tourneys.
I will spare you the details of why this format is shitty, but it basically boils down to the fact Nitendo forces you to use two pokemon at the same time and it also allows for all the broken rng and mechanics that exist in the game, those two things make battles last only a couple minutes of almost complete guessing work that requires little skill.
Nitendo forcing two active pokemons specifically done so tourneys ended faster and then have people buy merch or whatever they do in those conventions, nobody liked it because double battles were rarely shown in the anime or the video game series, and it was really unfun to play.
Pokemon Showdown (PS) is a pokemon battle simulator, it is funded, supported and directly linked to Smogon a xenoforo forum site just like kiwifarms, this site is a collaborative attempt at producing resources aimed at supporting fun and balanced competitive play, it mainly produces its own ruleset and tierlists that are then used in PS.
Anyway, that dude would use PS to test his VGC gimmick set ups and people would just own him all the time, even 1100 elo noobs destroyed this guy and would make fun of him on his comments and he eventually got triggered about it and started posting those seething videos.
I remember we would just snipe his username and make his fun of him in battles, it was hilarious, it just went to show how behind and archaic the vgc scene was compared to internet battlers that honed their skills in the comfort of their chairs and dorito dust crusted fingers.
Another reason that I think he was so triggered is because those MLG type indie tourneys at that time started using Smogon/PS rules instead of mainstream nitendo rules, so he was worried he would his popularity if nitendo decided to ragpull their operations.
I guess he turned out as some sort of furry since then, it is sad, i guess those meme response videos smogon dudes made about him being molested by his dad got to him, regardless Ill ignore reading the furrfaggotry and only remember him for this cringe autistic drama from when the internet seemed so pure.

Unlike Verlisify, Wolfe actually EARNED that title of Greatest player because he is genuinely so goddamn good and has been high placing in many official tournaments and non official of multiple rule types. Verlisify however, is so self fellating it's not even funny. It's pathetic.

Seeing Verlisfy's absolute seething hatred for Wolfey is something to behold. It's purely one sided and seemingly came from now nowhere. He honestly believes not being acknowledged by Wolfey in recent time is some sort of victory, but when you see Wolfey drop long form videos about tournaments he attended it's clear he doesn't care.

Verlis has never been good at the game.
He used to have a channel called verlisifys hot takes where he would sperg about cancel culture or whatever. Everything he has ever done is cry and make excuses about why everyone else is better than him.
He went to retard war with a channel called pimpinite that also hurt his channel. Basically pimp does “themed” battles where it will be like a mustache team or a food team or whatever and do battles with his viewers. He obviously just gens the pokemon because he used a totally different themed gimmick team each time and it would take insane amounts of time for his videos. Verlis couldn’t handle his channel’s success and cravenly tried to get him banned from playing the game with his friends even though pimp is not a tournament player. He says it’s because all of these people are cheaters but the reality is he is just a loser

That's not even the worst part. He accused Pimpnite for piracy when Sun and Moon came out because he suddenly had video game footage in a matter of hours of the game launching.
The reason why he was able to do that? He's Australian, he had the game digitally, and the game unlocked for him earlier due to timezones.

This is how I first learned about Verlisify. I used to watch Pimpnite back then and Verlis got on my radar for sperging too hard about Pimp's use of hacked Pokemon (though nowadays Pimp's little more than a content farm).
This furfag is known as the village idiot of the Poketuber community, and he's got some tough competition for that spot. He's also terminally autistic about hacking and takes pride in relentlessly hounding (lol) people for it.

I've been aware of Verlisfy's antics ever since Pokemon Showdown overtook Pokemon Online in popularity, and thus it shifted Smogon to treating Showdown as the "Official" Pokemon battle simulator.
His disgust started at that point in time and his reputation has gone downhill ever since.
I just went through a short trip down memory lane comparing his older content compared to now and this dude's stance literally hasn't changed in over a decade, over 12 years ago to be more precise. Not just in terms of his opinions but also his channel and content, really gives off a middle school 2008-09 edge lord vibe, just guessing but he would be like around his mid 30's?
He has biggest stick up his for a website/forum I've ever seen that he almost beats Goddess Jesus Christ Chandler hatred for the CWC Forums and DSP against the infamous sub forum here.
I think the only thing that keeps him out of mainstream hot water is that he's too chicken shit to debate people face to face or as some content creators call them "live debates", and most of his opinions are just strictly related to Pokemon, and whist the fanbase is rather huge, the competitive VGC audience (which I would argue he is the most historically passionate about) is rather niche, so he rarely gets viral.
Shitty clickbait youtube content only gets you so far.
