1) Florida has had only Republican governors since 1999 (Jeb Bush, Charlie Crist, Rick Scott, now DeSantis)
2) The judge overseeing this case (Carlos E. Mendoza) was appointed by one of those Republican governors (the one that looks like Voldemort)
3) Trump got 1.5 million more votes than Harris in FL; the state is considered strongly red.

Perhaps the law is more complex than whatever political bias one ascribes to it.

prosecutors get promoted based on how many convictions they get guess what plea agreements counters convictions and it's just less work they have to do government employees don't like doing work.
so unless you did something heinous like beat someone's face into the wall yeah you probably getting a lighter sentence just so the prosecutor can pad their numbers

2 whole years is definitely enough to get the message across. Being stuck in a cell, eating slop, getting beat down, every day feel longer than 2 years of daily normie activities. Time is much slower in prison. People get in fights all the time in prison. If he gets picked on and doesn't fight back it'll be much worse for him.
