I've always seen body modding as a statement of your intent never to be gainfully employed. Tattoos and the odd piercing are one thing but when you start cutting bits off yourself and using your face as a canvas for edgy artwork you're making a definite statement that you're living on tax payers money.

this argument is somewhat fair but not really applicable to torz. she probably makes more money then you do and has been on a number of tv shows and she basically has a cult following that will just throw money at her and fund her shenagins. torz is celebrity in the body mod world. not to mention that a good tattoo costs upwards of 800-900 dollars.

If slicing your skin off and amputating fingers with bolt cutters for money is a legit loving for her, great. It won't last. People will get bored with her and she'll end up like that woman that tried to make herself look like a cat with tattoos and silicon whiskers.

true. I'm not sure if your very psychologically knowledgable but extreme body modification has a lot to do with body dysmorphia.

Yeah... I’d say she’s going to be dead before 55-60, maybe even as young as 40’s depending on when she really starts to look her age.

Right now she does body mods at a shop so it might actually be bringing her some income. Not sure if she’s tattooing too.

Necro but since there was all that discussion about her slicing off her ex's tattoo, I thought it'd be good to actually show the pictures of it.

Cutting off whole swatches of skin is just asking for a massive, massive infection. Also, I thought some dudes I saw at a punk show 20 yrs ago hanging from the ceiling by back rings was bad. I had no idea...

I remember seeing photos of this girl who was literally carving her limbs up (she was cutting through fat and muscle). Her body was covered in lumpy scars where she'd been stitched up over and over. She's probably dead now.

She has a thread some where on here, I can't remember her name though.

Yeah, but was she doing it for body mod purposes, or was a it a cutting issue, like with depression? There's a difference.

(And wouldn't you need your pinkie if you're doing tattoos and piercings? I know it's not as important as your thumbs or your index fingers, but I'd say it would be detrimental to your job)
