Apparently it has done pretty well for itself so far and is fairly well run. However, it is a massive autism magnet. Some images and videos attached below.

Sincerely i believe troons who like Touhou, only enjoy it because they perceive the characters as vessels for their demented fantasies. There's a very peculiar kind of Touhou fan around the imageboard/altchan spheres, usually with these characteristics:

• They will avatarfag constantly, usually with a specific "waifu" of theirs
• They will regurgitate /jp/ memes and use "wwww" unironically
• They are open and proud pedophiles and will post loli constantly
• They will spam and raid boards who don't agree with them
• They claim to be "based" and will use words like nigger, but if you criticize their pedophilia you will get sperged at

These people usually are secondaries (they don't play the mainline games), but there are exceptions. One somewhat-infamous case of this was someone called "Koisheep" who was active in 2020 around the altchan Webring (a now mostly-dead group of imageboards due to lack of fresh meat). This guy would hang around boards like smuglo.li and JulayWorld (now AlogsSpace, the current home of /cow/). At one point he was made the owner of Julay's /v/ board and subsequently deleted the board, causing a lot of butthurt at the time. A short time after that, Julay went down for a few weeks and the community over there largely moved on.

• Touhou fans on the opposite side of the political spectrum
• Catholics
• People who didn't follow him back
