Without a shred of a doubt, absolutely. Perhaps the other post from earlier was right about the spike of fat fetish 2hu content. It may not always be unrecognizable horrors of blobs but it is still a little disturbing when all I wanted to do was look for JP artwork.
I got put off from the game playing it for myself once and I couldn't agree more. It got me initially wondering why he really likes Yuuma and Patchouli specifically. Couldn't be because the goat is a glutton and the sorceress has a notoriously weird share of fans making her 100lbs+ bigger, no mister.

I would've imagined that a wizard with asthma that has no need in eating or sleeping due to magic would be more on the anorexic side, rather than the average NEET that orders takeout from dubious fastfood places. I thought that the concept on the "subversion" of that tank-top Nitori artist trend was funny (and I recall a lot of people drawing not-actual-tank tank top Nitori were cumbrains). I didn't happen to play it, and seems like I won't be doing that in the near future.
Somewhat unrelated, I don't really play fan games from itch... Though, is there anything good on itch overall, outside of games that also went up on Steam?

New Western fangame demo out, Touhou Farmers! What are we thinking?
My personal thoughts:
Overall? 7.5/10, it has much more high quality production value compared to other Wes2hu's like.... uhh... "Leafwhisper Ode to Blooming"... it's by the same guy who did Ecstatic and Expressive Allies by the way.
So it's themed around UFO and Ten Desires, huh? Well, that could be interesting, especially since I really do enjoy the cast of UFO. The point system seems to be an updated version of Sapphire Panlogism's mechanics, the graphics and overall art design are really attention-grabbing and colorful, which can work in most cases. For the most part, Forlorn Souls of Wicked Past does the job very well, although that leads us into... the character designs.
For this demo, we have the standard three stages with midbosses and regular bosses. Here, these are all canon characters, in order: Mamizou, Byakuren (Stage One) Futo (Stage Two) Nue and Miko (Stage 3)
I'll go over my thoughts on the redesigns for this game.
Reimu looks your standard Hakurei shrine maiden. Nothing of note besides the slightly changed outfit. I guess I should iterate that while the art style is pleasant to look at, I don't think it suits a Touhou game very well. That's just my opinion.
I like Marisa's color palette, being akin to a sunset with the blue leading into the pink. Personally, I like it!
Ichiran's certainly an interesting pick for a third protagonist, people would usually go for Sakuya or Youmu. I don't got anything to say since I don't think too highly of Ichiran. She's alright.
With Forbidden Scrollery and Urban Legend in Limbo, I've grown really attached to Mamizou as a character and design... and I don't think this one really suits her. What's with the arrows in her tail? Was she attacked? Maybe by Futo, who uses arrow-shaped danmaku in this game? I'm not too sure, but she's far from my least favorite redesign here. It's passable, I guess. Passable, but forgettable.
Oh fuck me, what did they do to Futo? Her whole schtick is that she has trouble adapting to modern culture, so why is she suddenly wearing a hoodie and pants? I mean, the colors are pleasant to look at, but taking away Futo's unique dress design in favor of bland sweatpants is a cop-out if I've ever seen it. Definitely my least favorite design in the game.
Nue... oh, sweet Jesus, Nue... What I loved about Nue's design in UFO was that it was easy to draw but memorable. The hat is cute, I guess, but the yellow jacket feels really jarring to look at. I guess it's supposed to represent... warning tape? I dunno, I just don't like it.
...that's just a fucking Fate Grand Order character.
EDIT: I FORGOT ABOUT BYAKUREN
I guess she's my second favorite design behind Marisa, but that's not too much praise. I like her colors and more saintly appearance here compared to her original design, but it's admittedly pretty forgettable.

At this point, we probably should make a Touhou Project general thread because this thing's not focusing much on the lolcows and more on what we like. Of course, some of the more judgmental ones will call us pedos for liking Touhou but this is the Kiwi Farms after all.

You know, I was toying around with the idea of starting a similar thread on Games or Multimedia so there can finally exist a space to sperg about how ZUN's work is mediocre or debate which doujin works best represent the "canon" of the series. Problem is, if there's not enough material to power the thread beyond the first three months, fan made works or otherwise, it won't last as we would end up circling the wagons talking about the same shit over and over. And yet the VTuber thread happens to get thousands of pages talking about nothing so perhaps it's just the territory that comes with a slow stream of content.
