I know I've thrown the accusation of troonery around a little too liberally before, but hear me out on this one.

1. Gets referred to as she by another MMD animator, which I think a lot of the MMD animators hang out in Discord together.
sader.PNG

2. Massive obsession with yuri (though Touhou has female fans that are into it, but usually less outwardly sexual and more Pride(TM), such as LyricaLive).

3. Writes some pretty unsexy descriptions in its video descriptions that I just can't imagine even the shittiest female smut author writing.

Oh, previously mentioned MTB and his like of ONESHOT, Cave Story, and Made in Abyss making it obvious he likes media with little robot / cat boys.

A more recent animator is Hoxton Texas who seems to be preempting whatever skeletons he has in his closet being shown with his channel description.

It's not that it's unreasonable so much as I can't imagine why you'd feel the need to type this unless you were trying to get ahead of your public image going to shit some time in the future. I've seen people try to do this before, and it's always for that purpose.
Probably doesn't help that his physiognomy is that of a Hapa school shooter.

I feel the most fitting content for the spooky season is some fanart horrors!
You've heard of Yaoi hands, now get ready for Yuri Bodies!

The artist, as I suspected, is a troon:

While I'm not quite as fluent in troon as others on KF, I believe this means the artist is either a MtF who still looks like an obvious man yet acts stereotypically feminine and is attracted to women, or a pooner who looks "masculine" yet acts feminine and likes women.
This person wrote a fanfic that could be interpreted as transphobic, and is currently Self-flagellating about it:

Choujuu Gigaku seem to be in their "Queens of Pop" era.
While not necessarily bad art-wise, I've noticed wholesome 100 troon worshipping Discord/Xitter tards love telling their followers/oomfs to drink water.

This next piece is drawn by a person who is (was?) involved in PrismLuna's Discord (famous for their 176pg faildoc), namely its infighting/drama. While I was doing a quick lookup on them, I found this monstrosity:

"ushi oni share a number of characteristics, pointing to a common origin. They are exceedingly cruel and savage."
What did they mean by this?

Does anyone read the printworks / manga? Cheating Detective Satori turned into a battle manga that barely features Satori and the fight between Okuu and Reimu resulted in a tornado of souls. Really goofy change of direction.
I think Forbidden Scrollery is a pretty good one, I like Motoori's design and Mamizou is especially pretty here in her alternate outfit.

I've read Lotus Eaters up to Chapter 54.

I remember thinking it was overall a pretty good time, with Mizutaki's art being nice to look at.

Haven't read Detective Satori, but that's mostly because i've heard that it wasn't good, that said i do plan to eventually read it to form my own conclusion. I did read Forbidden Scrollery and loved the artwork and story

Sangetsusei, Bougetsushou/SSiB, and almost all of WaHH are the main three I consider to be a fun time and what I come to the series for in a literary sense. It covers about everything I can expect from the setting being lighthearted though not afraid to become serious when it decides to. The rest I find to be interesting oddities and I haven't cared to check out LE nor CDS.

I've heard of not so great things about the latter, especially over the fact that it ended up being a shonen type of manga of nothing like you implied. It would be infinitely preferrable for CDS to be a tribute to Agatha Christie as ZUN is a fan of her detective stories. I will not understand why it ended up the way it did as I believe that would've been a fun direction to take a story.

Forbidden Scrollery > the rest.

Always have to wonder how much input the artist has on the writing direction of comics, even if it's not intentional. Mizutaki had been doing official inset art, often about food, for years, so it seems obvious that Lotus Eaters was spawned from wanting to expand on that. ZUN and Hirasaka worked very closely on Sangetsusei to the extent it basically became Hirasaka's thing. Maybe CDS would've turned out differently if the original artist had stuck. Although I'm not sure current year ZUN could handle a detective story anyway.

I'll agree with the general consensus that FS was one of the best ones (though I personally really like Wicked and Horned Hermit and think they're tied for me). It is funny there's a part in Forbidden Scrollery where Akyuu is writing (or rewriting) Agatha Christie novels, and a big part of that little plot line is that mystery stories wouldn't work much in Gensokyo due to magic shenanigans making the really convoluted explanations come off as more nonsensical than the idea that a random yokai did some magic or something. What's even more funny is that FS did a better mystery arc than the entirety of CDS during that and right after that. I guess ZUN hasn't read a good mystery in a while.

I do actually have a few of the mangas I got years ago from it and Moe Harukawa makes really cute and good art. A fitting replacement for Alphes in 14.5/15.5 cause I heard one of the complaints of 13.5 was due to Alphes' style used there...

I can see why. Its way too shiny and ambient.

As much as I think Moe Harukawa's style is a massive upgrade from Hopeless Masquerade, I still think this still for Hata no Kokoro goes hard.

So true. NGL Alphes wasn't the best artist around but he was iconic and one of the reasons why Touhou even got so popular back then (that and considering they're from the fighting games which are still really cool, 10.5/12.3 mostly, though 15.5 has its fans), but good god he really did take a nose dive with this experimental style in 13.5. The game itself isn't exactly very popular these days either it seems, mainly due to the gameplay being really strange with the flight-based movement and more limited movepools mixed with the deck building mechanics didn't help out well, not to mention the popularity and religion war mechanics that would make you better or worse....glad 14.5 fleshed it out and simplified it, and I heard 15.5's assist system was a nice refresher.
