When should you use bombs in Touhou? I'm currently playing Touhou 6. I always hold onto them and never end up using them out of fear I might waste them but then die with them anyway. Also is it considered dishonoroburu to use outside sources for beating the game, such as reading a guide or watching a video?

The general mindset you should have is that you should ALWAYS use your bombs before any lives. In the early Touhou games, namely 6 7 and 8, your bomb count gets set to 2 if you die and if you have 1 or 0 bombs, you should have used them all by the time you died, and if you're going for a 1cc, you should try to not bomb or die at all at least until stage 4. EoSD is known as the harder of the first 3 Windows games, so if it overwhelms you, you should skip to PCB and try EoSD again once you've beaten both PCB and IN!

I like the only Touhou game I've beaten is Subterranean Animism, which is supposed to be one of the hardest in the series.

I did also get up to Kanako in Mountain of Faith (while drunk mind you), but that doesn't count as beating the game.

It's typical translator faggotry. The English Touhou translations are not officially endorsed, and they have never been. Nowadays, translator and faggot are the same word.

I actually like both Zanmu and Hisami, but I wish they would stop pretending that platonic relationships don't exist. I recall that watching guides was being generally encouraged, though shmups tend to be games where you can beat them by memorizing some route and just going through the motions every time, with a bit of accounting for possibly random bullets being thrown in among the static or aimed patterns. (Unless it is one of those roguelikes with randomized waves, or even entire game) Personally I enjoy more going into shmups in "fuck around and find out" mode, so I'd have to react on the fly rather than "remember to move up and right after this much seconds" and etc, though some remembering is still needed in case if there's some sudden bullets or enemies popping out of a certain side of the screen.

If you're autistic enough, you could also record your own playthrough and then rewatch it, as that could allow to see a bigger picture when you ain't tunnel visioned on your immediate surroundings when playing. I heard it's also good for any other game as well if you're the sort to analyze gameplays in some faster-paced games.

So, as to how he's Touhou related? I guess uploading Touhou related addons and hanging out with some other touhoufags should make him qualify? I've looked through his workshop of more than 1 thousand of items, which is primarily Garry's Mod related things, with some Wallpaper Engine and Half-Life 2 items being sprinkled in.
