Tourettes Guy: real or staged?

I'm sure many of you are familiar with the Tourettes Guy, the foul-mouthed web video hit who coined funny catchphrases such as "BOB SAGET!", "Don't talk shit about Total!" and "Fuck salt!" Well in addition to watching his videos I've read conflicting reports of whether it's for real or all an act... Many sources claim he died (I think he actually faked his death or something, dunno if that's also part of the whole spiel). Anyway, do you think his exploits are real or some one-of-a-kind performance art?
 
I love tourette's guy, but I'm pretty sure it's fake.

They said he died, but he made some more videos later on.

My favorite video is when they introduce his father and he's just as twitchy as TG.
 
Oh man, I loooooooooooooove the videos, but I hate to see what that family goes through, staged or not. His dad looks like your average Montana mountain dweller, though. Acts like one too.

Also, I'm debating whether or not to move this to the lolcow board, but I'll leave that to either Nia or one of the admins/global mods for now.

The footage of the camera guy getting chased was absolutely horrific. I could feel the hairs on the back of my neck raising, feeling like he was going to get me and kick the shit out of me. And I'm definitely calling it Shit Load of Mashed Potatoes day. I know I did last year. ♥

There was also the time when his son was offering him Twizzlers and he just slammed his fists on the table and yelled, "BUTT FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCK," in public.

And the time he grounded his son for not thinking the garbage disposal sounded like Chewbaca taking a shit.

And the time his son fell down the stairs and his reaction was, "WELL QUIT IT," and the camera panned into the "World's Greatest Dad" mug.

Hell, all of those videos are hilarious. I honestly don't care if they're real or staged at this point.
 
Tourettes Guy was my JAM back in the day. My friends and I will forever quote it.

I can't. I could list every quote of his from memory. BOB SAGET.
 
I remember seeing a best of video of Tourettes Guy. I will always remember hearing his ex-wife yelling "I'LL KICK YOU IN THE BALLS!" only for him to say "BITCH... I love you." I don't care if it's real or staged. I watch it for laughs.
 
I visited East Columbus to check out a factory, two summers back. The kid I was with knew all of the places in the Tourettes Guy videos. He drove us past his Kroger, Lens Crafters (DICKS!), and we stopped at the famed Broad St. Jolly Pirate Donuts. I was tempted to take a two hour shit, but I was wearing nice jewelry, and wanted to get out of Columbus without having to kill any would-be muggers. This was years after the peak of his internet popularity, but he's apparently still a bit of a local legend. He thinks he's seen Danny a few times, but he conceded that a LOT of guys in the area look like him. I suspect most of the antics were staged, but that makes the Tourettes Guy videos no less entertaining.

This. I'm sure it's staged and he just acts like a butt monkey for the camera. There's a new set of videos (I think) on Youtube under Return of Tourettes Guy Part 4. "Damn that referee! Damn him in his ass!"
 
My understanding is that he does have tourettes but it's staged and Danny is in on it. Also his "dad" has an IMDB page, he's played an evil Santa Claus in a couple of movies I've never heard of.

This. It's staged, and you can really tell in the more recent episodes. Still hilarious though.
 
It's staged completely. I think they even have IMDB pages and Danny isn't his real name.
