Let's catch up to 2026 Trackmania news for a moment.

Ubisoft Nadeo couldn't resist getting juiced by Saudi oil money, and thus Trackmania is now part of the 2026 Esports World Cup, just in time for the 20th anniversary of the original Trackmania Nations ESWC. This comes in light of Trackmania esports absolutely bleeding money year by year and the Saudis just happened to provide enough of a cash pump to keep the circus going.

The only format change we know of as of now is that the current 2v2 race format for World Cup matches will be changed to a free for all race.

Seven-time world champion CarlJr, considered one of, if not the best Trackmania player of all time, left long-time org Solary to chase Saudi oilbux as well, joining Falcons Esports. According to an insider, the contract was absolutely irresistable and other orgs would NOT even come close to the sum Falcons paid for CarlJr. Ronaldo leaving Man Utd for Al-Nassr anyone?

The Winter 2026 campaign for TM2020 is slated to release next Monday, instead of... approximately 22 days ago. Nadeo apparently needed to cook a lot of stuff for this update, which according to rumors might include terraforming, Canyon + Valley + Lagoon blocks, some new gamemodes, etc etc. The same rumor also alludes that this will be the only content update in 2026 (excluding live service stuff like campaigns and Track of the Days), which many players are hoping is not the case. What they're absolutely sure about though is that no alt cars will get added, so it still stays stadium, desert, rally, and snow car for TM2020.

TM2 had a major breach which allowed a hacker to change email addresses to TM accounts, letting him put his own email and log into any account on TM2 without needing the person's email or password to the account.
With this, he logged into Riolu's, and Wirtual's accounts. The hacker also spent a bunch of Riolu's in game currency on random shit. While that sounds really bad on paper, Riolu's account was banned and shouldn't have been able to be logged into in the first place. This means he also potentially had access to an admin page. Riolu's TM2020 account was also logged into.

I have this video downloaded but KF is refusing to embed it. :dienull:

Trackmania's first (and only) LAN event directly linked to Esports World Cup qualification, DreamHack Birmingham 2026 just concluded.

The gist of it: Double-elimination bracket tournament starting with two groups. Top 8 in the tournament get direct qualification to EWC and enter the $20000 prize pool.

Here's your top 8 of the event. Of note is Pac winning his first ever major *solo* LAN tournament since 2021 beating out 7-time world champion CarlJr, and relatively new face Epos achieving 4th in an impressive run all the way to the Grand Final.

The rest of the EWC qualification slots will be determined by online Elite Cup (Cup of the Week Division 1) races and regional qualification.

In the case of ENC (Esports Nations Cup), it will still be determined by Elite Cup standings and regional qualifications, just that there's a limit of 1 player per country if they wish to qualify via the Elite Cup.

Spring 2026 campaign released and people are not happy, mainly because the "Germany" track (track no. 21) was mapped poorly driving-wise despite being a competitive map, and the "Canada" track's Author Medal (track no. 23) being extremely difficult to obtain, beating out the previous Summer 2024 - 25 author medal in terms of difficulty. Oh and placing reactor boosters on maps again because why not Nadeo.

Since it has taken pro players an average of 30 minutes - 1 hour to obtain the medal, you as an average player should expect 5-10 hours of gameplay to obtain it yourselves. Maybe gold looks better this time if you already struggle with black track ATs. Happy hunting Trackmaniac kiwis.
