Trader Joe's is a wonderful place for yuppies like me who don't have kids. They have all sorts of easy meals for 2 or to take to work. Also, they have 2 buck chuck.
Does anyone else like Trader joes? What stuff do you like?

I like their breads, cheese, Indian stuff, lots of their stuff. In general, I like that they have much of what you'd find at Whole Foods but at the same price or sometimes even better than a normal grocery store.

It's Jew-y!
They got some dope ass cracker things.
They're Italian and have rosemary and shit. I think theyre called parchment crackers or something? Delicious.

I wish we had trader Joe's here. For awhile, in Vancouver, we had a shop called "pirate joes" that would bring there products across the border and sell them. That got shit down quick.

I want cookie butter damn it!

Their Mochi is pretty dope.
Mochi is super quick and easy to make at home if you ever want to experiment with it. It's just Mochi flour, and water. Then you cook it in the microwave.
so many types of ice cream filled Mochi in my freezer during the summer.

I generally like what I've gotten from them. Really liked their various frozen curry-type dishes.

Only problem is the one near me is way over in Hipster Village Marketplace Shopping Center and parking is totally shit. So between something like five times the drive for me compared to Aldi or Publix and having to navigate a small parking lot filled with dumbfucks it's tough for me to get the motivation to go.

I highly suggest staying away from their frozen turkey bolognese, you're much better off just buying their crushed tomatoes and a pound of ground turkey.

Reading about sounds like it was more like a labor of love given the lengths the guy went through to get the items. Looks like it's mired in the 9th Circuit (the super-liberal one), but if it went to the Supreme Court, they would rule in Pirate Joe's favor, given the first-sale doctrine and the relatively decisive 6-3 case of Kirtsaeng v. John Wiley & Sons, Inc. a few years ago.

Looks like the 9th Circuit sent it back on the grounds that it was dismissed by the District Court partly because the District Court found it had no jurisdiction as the alleged trademark infringements occurred outside the U.S., which sounds like a dodgy conclusion. However, the District Court also found no proof of any damages (the "pirate" store has no contract with TJ and in fact purchases all its products at full retail).

So in theory, the District Court could just dismiss it again on that basis.

Also, first sale may not apply to trademarked products, as such. Although it is generally permitted to resell items whether or not they're trademarked, whether it's infringing would depend on the exact circumstances.

That is an awesome idea, lol.
That's something I was thinking about doing for Daiso, since they refuse to open an actual shop in Portland.
I'm semi familiar with first sale doctrine but I don't otherwise know about the legality of that lol. I imagine they'd care less than trader joe's.

Anyway I forgot in OP to post stuff I like-
-Korean Spare ribs - these are like $8 a bag but they are the same.exact.ribs you get at Korean or Asian fusion restaurants.

They are fucking fantastic. I don't think it matters much how you cook them but I like simmering them slowly in a skillet, then turning up the heat, and then adding extra bulgogi sauce and slow/medium simmering again. Bonus if you have sesame oil.
But you can cook them according to the instructions or however the fuck you want, they are delicious.

I don't often buy sweets but I tried these awhile ago and they seemed good.

I can't really speak much to the quality of their desserts bc I don't eat many desserts, but I like buying their mochis and macarons for entertaining my weeaboo friends. They're all cheap & easy and decent quality. The frozen macarons are actually surprisingly good.

They just brought em to my state. Everybody went sight seeing for a month or so before everyone forgot cept for the hipsters.

That being said, their bakery stuff is usually pretty good.

I'm sad that they discontinued their frozen lamb koftas with masala sauce. They were my go-to quick weeknight meal.

They have some decent coffee beans there. Their Costa Rican Tarazzu is pretty good, their Sumatra and Guatemalan beans are okay. Some of their beans aren't so great though. Their house brand "Joe's Dark" is abysmal. Like, "I'd rather drink the coffee at 7-11 at 2:30am" bad.

I've been consistently impressed by their prices. You'd think they'd be way too expensive, but they really aren't.
