Pooner v Troon: I started off with the opinion that MtF were vile sex pest and FtM were sad abused girls. A few years on here has changed this. I now think that MtF are demonic dangerous sex pests and FtM are delusional whiny porn addled groomers. Troons remain more dangerous simply because they’re men, and men are bigger, stronger and more aggressive. The Troon crashes in directly. He will rape, he will harass, he will go to any length to satisfy his urges. The pooner must exert her damage via more stealthy means, like grooming, , wriggling her way into committees (like the one who works for FEMA and insists alphabet people should have priority in disaster relief…) but both are repulsive affronts to humanity.
Very, very occasionally I see a pre-pointer who has clearly been horribly abused and is simply falling for a way out, but these days my sympathy for them as a group has evaporated.


When I was in my teen years AIDS was a massive thing and we had those tombstone ads everywhere telling us unprotected sex was DEATH. Do they not tell teens about STDs? Or is it that shaming being promiscuous is verboten now? Random hookups are damgerous. At best you’re getting exposed to a smorgasbord of STDs and at worst you could end up dead. It’s such a terribly risky thing to do yet it seems completely normalised to this generation.

I think the attitude is that it’s science’s responsibility to sort out all those STDs and no-one should be shamed for getting one. It wouldn’t surprise me if getting an STD is regarded positively in some circles now, as some sort of proof you’re doing promiscuity (sorry, ‘polyamory’) properly. That and dumb pooners trying to get AIDS because that’s what all real gay men have (or something).

There was something to be said for the language around disability focusing only on the negatives being overly depressing, but this newspeak-esque stuff has gone way too far with it all. Now everything anyone with even a cut finger does is somehow never to be challenged (people are difficult when they’re in pain, you bully!), and every “disability” is a badge to be flaunted.

It’s simply a case of rebelling against the previous generation/parents, but I don’t think any of us of the older generations expected it to be quite so fucking stupid. To the point where people are mauling and killing themselves, just to be somehow “different” (just like everyone else is).

The language around disability should be as realistic and positive as you can manage, but never victim oriented. ‘We should be pitching it as these are the limitations, reasonable accommodation should be made, and a positive overall. So ‘kid has cerebral palsy, requires wheelchair access, may require physical support in classroom, is not mentally disabled, should be able to do as well as other kids on academic subjects given correct support.’ The victimhood and progressive stacking has been a disaster. Everyone I know who has a disability wants to succeed and be as normal as possible - they know they have a limitation in some areas, they expect and are entitled to an accommodation for that, and otherwise as far as possible they want that to be the end of it. I had a couple of deaf students in my classes and a deaf prof, and the accommodation was their hearing aid boxes got slung on his lectern (this was back in the day) and he didn’t move about too much, they sat at the front and he was careful to face front when he spoke and was available for clarification of anything missed after. And that was it. You were expected to perform the same after reasonable accommodation

A 6'5" Troon that loses it might beat the shit out of someone and throw chairs, whatever, a 4'10" Pooner can't do that, but if she seethes enough to go home and grab the Mossberg (or the Keltec joke foldy gun) they're far more lethal.
So I think Troons are far more likely to get into physical altercations with a person who pissed them off at the time, Pooners are far more likely to be a sudden, unexpected and lethal threat to random groups of people that maybe only have any warning they're in danger when they first hear the shots. Plus I think the effects of Testosterone make Pooners more likely to become violent, so its really a toss up between them.
TLDR -you're more likely to get into a fight with a Troon, but die to a Pooner.

Today was weird. Went to the mall with my trans friend and while we were waking i noticed a much older guy speed up to get in front of us and look back. Before I could even react he turned around and asked if he could ask us some questions and said he didn't mean to be offensive. I was like sure but was ready run.

He started asking how we got the courage to go out dressed the way we were (we were dressed completely appropriately for the mall), taking about how we were there supporting each other, things like that. It was weird but he seemed to legitimately be asking and complimenting us. I could tell my friend was uncomfortable so I took the lead for most of it. At first I assumed he was maybe a closet trans and was kinda excited to help a girl out. Told him to check out reddit and other online resources for local groups for support. That we support each other and you can find wonderful communities everywhere.

It was then that things took a turn. He pointed out that he loved my friends style and wanted to copy it but maybe with a collar (she had jeans and a crop top with a jacket). Okay... odd but whatever. Then he started asking if we dress like this at home too, like yeah of course we do... and it dawned on me. Hes not trans, he thinks we're CDs . My friend points out we're both trans women so this is how we always dress. Then he asks if he could leave his number with me and I got real uncomfortable. Told him there's really not much more info i can give him other than to look online and some tips I had already told him to be more confident in dressing how he wanted.
